This time last year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were working members of the royal family. And now, they're dabbling in the business of audio, after it's been revealed that the couple have signed an exclusive multi-year deal with Spotify to host and produce podcasts.
A trailer for the couple's new podcast, titled Archewell Audio, has just been released by Spotify, ahead of the first episode's release later this month. The snippet features the Sussexes speaking in an intimate, informal way that many have never heard publicly before.
Introducing themselves very clearly as "Harry" and "Meghan", the former frontline royals described the concept of the podcast as being something "to bring forward different voices and perspectives that perhaps you haven't heard before, and find our common ground.
"Because when that happens, change really is possible," says Prince Harry.
The name of the podcast, comes from the Duke and Duchess' newly formed production company, Archewell Audio, which goes hand in hand with their wider organisation, Archewell. Archewell was set up with the intention to focus on the advancement of mental health resources including a website, films, and books - as well as podcasts, obviously - and the website launched back in October.
In a statement about their new show, Harry and Meghan said: "What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction.

"With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are."
This isn't the first big deal the Sussexes have signed since relocating to California. They also signed a lucrative speaking engagement contract with a New York–based agency, Harry Walker, which also represents the likes of the Obamas and the Clintons, and agreed on a contract with Netflix earlier this year, for whom they'll be producing documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming.
Looks like 2021 is definitely going to be Meghan and Harry's year! We can't wait to hear more...
