Meghan Markle attended the Endeavour Fund Awards with Prince Harry in London last night, marking her first formal evening event as an almost-royal. In addition to attending as guests, the actress and her fiancé presented awards to injured and ill veterans for their notable acts of service.
Meghan presented the second honour of the night, the Celebrating Excellence Award, The Telegraph reports. But when she got to the podium, her script appeared to be out of order. After reading a few lines, she paused and her co-presenter (last year's winner, Neil Heritage) began flipping through the pages to find the rest of her speech.
There was an awkward silence and a few nervous laughs, but Meghan maintained her poise and kept smiling through the gaffe. The confusion lasted for nearly a minute before they resumed the presentation.
Daily Mail's royal reporter Rebecca English captured the moment in full:
Despite the mix-up, Meghan gracefully carried on. She presented the award to Daniel Claricoates, who served in Afghanistan and is recovering from PTSD.
At the end of the ceremony, she and Harry led winners to the stage.

Fans praised the future duchess on how well she handled the situation.
The evening marked Harry and Meghan's fourth royal engagement together following earlier events in Nottingham, Brixton, and Wales. Meghan showed off her classic style in a tailored suit by Alexander McQueen, worn with a pussy-bow bodysuit, black pumps, and a Prada bag. She somewhat matched with the prince, who was also sharply dressed in a suit.
