No matter how good your sex life is, it can always get better. (We would say that, wouldn’t we?) Which is why, here at Cosmopolitan UK, we’re always trying out the latest sex toys on the market, to add a little something extra to your solo or partnered sessions — selflessly, of course…

So when Womanizer, the creators of suction Pleasure Air Technology (PAT), dropped Enhance — its new toy that claims to have given 100% of its (102) testers an orgasm — I was the first to add it to the shopping cart.

Having recently been impressed by Vibe, the brand’s silent vibration-only toy (spoiler: it was totally silent), I was curious whether its latest endeavour would also live up to the hype.

Renowned for toys such as the Pro 40, Liberty, Duo, and Next, Womanizer is a leading brand in suction sex toys. It describes its PAT as “the perfect balance between pulsating and massaging changes in air pressure without touching the clitoris” — which, like, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

But in a twist on its usual game, the brand is debuting its first 2-in-1 toy with Enhance, blending 10 PAT modes with 10 rumbling We-Vibe vibration intensities and 10 patterns.

This means there are, supposedly, over 1,000 ways to play with the toy — which, if you’re anything like me, may sound kinda overwhelming (I don’t think I’ve ever wanked in 1,000 different ways, and I’ve done a lot… duh).

The brand also claims the Enhance gave all (yup, 100%) of its product testers an orgasm. Now, this is obvs a v brave certification to stamp your sex toy package with, and something about it got my cynical sensors spinning.

But I didn’t let that stop me, so read on to see if my verdict matched those of Womanizer’s O-so-satisfied testers.

How to use the Womanizer Enhance

If you’ve never used a sex toy before, what a toy to start with! You’ve chosen a baby that blends the main stimulation types on the sex tech market: vibrations and suction stimulation — so it’s unlikely you’ll need any other kind of clit vibrator in your collection (may we point you towards a dildo or G-spot vibrator, though?).

And if I’ve correctly identified this as your first foray into the wondrous world of wanking gadgets, you’re in luck — we have a whole guide on how to use a vibrator available for your pleasure.

If you’re like okay, TL;DR please, here it is: you always need to wash your sex toy before and after use — I’d recommend this sex toy cleaner from Lovehoney to make extra sure you’re only putting the most sanitised toy you can on your sensitive spots.

Once your new bestie is charged (sorry to say this will take a loooong two hours — don’t shoot the messenger) it’s time to dribble some water-based lube on the mouth of the toy. A quick lesson in lube: water-based is generally the best option for silicone sex toys, as silicone in lube can dissolve the surface of your toys, making them less safe to use over time (unless it's Ples'jour, in which case it can be used with silicone toys by some wizardry).

With any toy that mimics the sensations of oral sex, it makes sense to get as close to the real deal as possible, and the consistency of water-based lube is pretty similar to spit. So be generous — you can never have too much lube in our books!

Then, you’re in luck, because the toy itself is pretty intuitive and easy to use: the vertical buttons (top and bottom) control the suction, while the horizontal ones (left to right) control the vibrations. Then there’s just one button to cycle through the patterns.

This is where I leave you, dear friends, to figure the rest out for yourself… but a word to the wise: start on the lower settings on your nipples, behind the ears, or on your inner thigh, to warm yourself up before venturing down to your vulva.

You might even want to use an internal vibrator, like a rabbit or dildo, at the same time if you want to surf the wave to blended O town. We'll leave that to you.

How I tested the Womanizer Enhance

womanizer enhancepinterest

It’s such a burden having to give my honest opinion about all this sex tech… not! Having owned this toy for a solid month, I’ve had plenty of opportunity to test it out every which way — vibes only, suction only, in a range of positions, and even in the shower. Lucky me.

Usually I’m not a fan of patterns, but I even ventured into the pulsating territory and tried all of the options out — and spoiler: it kind of changed my mind!

Who I am: I’m a cisgender, queer woman in my mid-20s, who has tested a ton of sex toys (including clitoral suction toys and vibrators) in the five years since I started writing and podcasting about sex and relationships — many of these in my role as Senior Sex and Relationships Ecommerce Writer at Cosmopolitan UK. So rest assured, I know an orgasm when I have one.

Our honest review of the Womanizer Enhance

Womanizer Enhance

Enhance

Pros:

  • Something about vibrations + suction is 🫦 delicious
  • Genuinely an astonishing number of combinations to play with
  • Five buttons makes it easy to use
  • Patterns are great for edging
  • Silicone isn’t too slippery, so it’s easy to grip
  • Three colours to choose from
  • Charge lasts two hours...

Cons

  • … but it also takes two hours to charge
  • Only one button for the patterns, so you have to cycle through all 10 to get back to the one you like
  • Hard to use a penetrative toy at the same time due to the size
  • Could do with removable heads and more than one (for cleaning and accessibility)

First impressions

Like someone who’s had their colour analysis done, Womanizer knows its colours — and it sticks with them. So, rather unsurprisingly, this toy comes in a lilac, black, or bright pink option.

Someone who clearly doesn’t know me (joking, I am always happy to receive sex tech) sent me the black toy, which on first opening looked immediately dusty, and basically has done ever since. (Sex toys should not be black for this reason, IMO.) Luckily, I somehow ended up with another version of the toy in lilac — which made a perfect present for a friend!

As per the previous Womanizer package I received, the Enhance came with a linen storage pouch, an #IMasturbate sticker, a magnetic USB charging cable, and an instruction manual.

Just like its other toys, the toy has a long tapered handle that extends to the suction head. While it looks beautiful, I was disappointed that it didn’t come with a removable head, already knowing how difficult suction toys can be to clean post-party (and I soon discovered it is tricky to get deep into the suction crater).

Once I had slathered the head in my favourite water-based lube (currently Smile Makers Collection's Generous Gel, if you must know) it was finally time to ramp it up. Lightly pressing the left vibration button — which looks like a little wave, FYI — it jolted to life.

Power

Sure enough, the vibes were deep and rumbling — so I led them over my nipples, and around my mons pubis to warm myself up. Even after working my way up through the 10 intensities, I was more than ready to switch to the suction stimulation, as Enhance was doing very little as a vibes-only toy. (Leave that to the Vibe.)

Getting around to what I was really there for (let’s be honest), I turned the vibration feature back down to the first intensity and started the suction stimulation on the first pattern. And, okay, I’m not going to lie… the first time I used this toy, I was underwhelmed. Having already tried plenty of Womanizer toys with PAT, I couldn’t see what the fairly gentle vibrations added to the overall experience.

What’s more: I didn’t orgasm, but I’m not sure if it was out of spite for the brand having chosen to market the toy the way it did — always the contrarian — or, more likely, because I simply wasn’t in the mood. But once I started experimenting by increasing the vibration and suction strength together, and changing to different patterns (my favourite is the third pattern — ‘cha cha’), then the magic happened.

While you can’t exactly feel the vibrations — the setting more enhances (oop) the feel of the PAT than anything else — there is an immediate difference in the strength of the suction once it’s turned on. So much so that it barely took me five minutes to ascend to a clitoral orgasm when I used them together.

Admittedly, I rarely got past the fourth intensity, but for those of you who like it hot and heavy, this toy can really pack some punch. Should you be a fan of edging, it makes for a great addition to your stop and start, because the difference between the first and 10th intensity is undeniable.

Plus, it’s easy to switch between the suction and vibration intensities thanks to the two buttons for each. What doesn’t make sense, though, is why Womanizer decided the pattern function only needed one button.

You’ve already got five buttons on the back of the toy — adding another one really isn’t going to make a difference, trust me, and having to cycle through each of the 10 patterns to try to remember your fave after turning it off and then on again is a bit of a pain.

Perhaps the next iteration could be controlled by an app, like the Lovense Lush 4, that has a LED light you can customise the colour of in accordance with the patterns you like the most?

Final verdict

Despite this minor blip, my vendetta against the chirpy marketing of the toy was admittedly quashed.

Though I’m not the biggest fan of the black colour (RIP the lilac version I gave away 💔), it’s a great neutral option for those not as into pink or lilac as some — and let’s be real, they all work the same, anyway.

I now find myself reaching for this toy pretty much whenever I want a guaranteed orgasm — lack of removable head be damned. Though the vibrations don’t make that much of a difference to the usual Womanizer vibes, when combined with the brand’s Pleasure Air Technology, it’s enough to boost it into one of the top suction vibrators out there RN, albeit one that's on the pricier one.

But having tried out plenty of oral sex toys myself, I can confirm that splashing the cash on a pricier vibrator will rock your world — because unforch, yes, you can feel the difference.

Price aside, I hereby declare that this innovation means the toy will likely become the brand’s next classic… watch this space!

What others think of Womanizer Enhance

Don’t take my word for it — I’m not the only one who enjoys Enhance. I somehow ended up with two of this toy, so I gifted the spare version to my best friend (ah, female friendship <3).

She took it home in the morning, and when I saw her again that evening she had used it twice, claiming her orgasm was so intensely delightful that it made her erupt in bursts of laughter immediately after (so you want what she’s having, basically).

On Lovehoney, the toy receives similar praise. “I couldn’t go back to analogue masturbating now,” one happy reviewer raves. “I haven’t had a clitoral orgasm this intense in my life.” Another tester calls it “the best Womanizer yet,” (ditto).

Meanwhile, a five-star reviewer says “I’ve never felt something like this from a toy before. It gave me a completely different orgasm both times compared to when I use fingers or other toys. Most definitely worth investing in as it will give you so much intense pleasure.”

Glad we’re on the same satisfied page, bud!
