Sexual wellness brand Biird is not exactly a household name in the way LELO or Lovehoney are. Still, after reviewing the Namii — its bestselling combination clit sucker and pebble vibrator — we’re hoping it might become one.

If you’re not familiar with the brand, here’s a quick lesson. Biird is a female-led sexual pleasure brand from the Netherlands which aims to “dispel taboo surrounding sex toys and other products designed specifically to make you feel good.”

To do this, the brand has created some seriously pretty sex toys — AKA a rose quartz dildo named Pixii, a palm-sized suction stimulator titled Lumii, and a moving, shaking G-spot probe known as Gii. They also make some really fun clit-themed accessories.

Now, onto the current matter at hand! We tested out the Biird Namii to see what this brand is all about...

Everything you need to know about the Biird Namii

The Namii is a two-in-one clit sucker and pebble vibrator. The clit sucker is positioned at the top of the toy, which then curves into a rounded pebble-like vibrator that fits the shape of your vulva. It’s kind of genius and we’re surprised there aren’t more out there like it.

The clit sucker uses air-pulse technology — similar to that used by the LELO SONA 2 Cruise and the Womanizer NEXT. If you’re unfamiliar, air-pulse clit suckers don’t make contact with your clit; instead, they create a suction seal that sort of puckers in a way that’s supposed to mimic the feeling of oral sex. I, personally, am not fully convinced of that claim. I’ve tested out several clit suckers and none of them actually feel like someone going down on you, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t feel good, you know?

The clit sucker part of the toy has five different intensity levels, while the vibrator has five different speeds. Here’s the fun part though: you can control them independently. I’m not great at maths, but I believe that makes for 25 (!) different combinations to explore.

The controls are on the bottom of the toy, and they double as the magnet points for the charging points. Hold the buttons down for two seconds to turn them on (do the same to turn them off), then just press them to scroll through the settings. You can also turn the clit sucker/vibrator on independently — so if you just want suction or just vibrations, that’s totally an option.

The sucker has a run time of two hours, while the vibe goes for three — essentially, you’ve got plenty of battery life to explore which combinations of settings work best for you.

The Namii feels super soft and fits snuggly into your hand; it’s about palm size and pretty lightweight, making it comfortable to use and easy to move around your body.

Unlike other clit suckers, including the NEXT, the Namii only comes with one ‘mouth’ and it is a little on the small side, which is great for some people, but may make it uncomfortable for others to use.

How to use the Biird Namii

You can use the Namii vibrator all over your body, working different erogenous zones. The clit sucker is designed to — you guessed it – suck your clit, but Biird also suggests that it can be used as a nipple sucker. Personally, I think the mouth is a bit on the small side for that, but it could work for some people.

Here’s the nitty-gritty of how to use it:

  • The first thing you’ll need to do is charge up your Namii, as it doesn’t come already charged. To do this, unpack the charging port, plug it in using the USBC cable provided, and sit the Namii in it so that the magnet points meet up. Pro-tip: there’s a bit of plastic over the magnet points on the base that you’ll need to peel off before charging, otherwise you’ll leave it charging for hours and be confused as to why it’s got no juice… not speaking from experience or anything. The base will light up while it’s on charge, but you can turn that off if you prefer
  • Once it’s charged, hold the buttons on the bottom for two seconds to switch on and off
  • With any clit sucker, you’ll want to use a good slick of lube to help create the best suction seal — as the Namii is made of silicone, you should opt for water-based lube (as you should with most sex toys) so you don’t damage it
  • Once you’re lubed up and the Namii is charged, you’re ready to go!

How we tested the Biird Namii

After an extensive examination, our bisexual, vulva-having writer got up close and personal. They paired it with a tingly water-based lube (although you can use any water-based lube with this silicone toy) and put it through its paces.

The Biird Namii Vibrator: One sex writer’s review

Star FillStar FillStar FillStar FillStar

Pros:

  • Absolutely love the double-function
  • It’s lightweight and on-the-go friendly
  • You could totally sit it on its port on your bedside table and people would be none the wiser that it’s a sexy toy
  • Good range of speeds and intensities

Cons:

  • The vibrations can overpower the clit sucking sensation when used together
  • It’s quiet, but definitely not silent
  • Not the most ergonomic design, and slippery when wet

The verdict

As a sex writer, I get sent a lot of sex toys and various sex tech accessories — I’m seriously dreading ever having to move again. Even though I’ve unpacked a fair few, unboxing the Namii still felt like a treat. First off, the packing is gorgeous, with illustrated instructions on how to use the toy on the inside of the box.

Then, there are the toys and charging port themselves, which are both very aesthetic. Inside the box, there were also a few extra little surprises, including the pretty travel case, a necklace with a pendant of two fingers doing the come-hither motion (which has been gifted to my lesbian bestie for obvious reasons), and a bookmark of the same design. Opening everything up felt very luxe, and definitely puts you in the right headspace for a two-in-one sex toy experience.

The clit sucker’s first setting is pretty low and gentle, which is great if you’re a beginner but might seem a little disappointing if you were looking to immediately get your socks blown off (among other things). However, there’s a sharp upward curve to the intensity settings with the highest intensity being a pretty darn powerful sucking motion.

The vibrator is definitely more on the rumbly side of things than the buzzy end of the spectrum – which I love, but if you’re someone who likes a more intense, pinpoint pleasure, this might not be up your street. The rounded bulb of the vibrator means it’s great for moving around your whole vulva, stimulating the internal parts of the clitoris and creating a more holistic feeling.

Namii Clitoral Suction Stimulator & Vibrator

This is the point of how it’s meant to be used alongside the clit sucker after all: while the clit sucker provides (external) clit stimulation, the vibrator adds a rumbly extra to the rest of your vulva.

I’ve gotta be honest: it’s pretty great. Especially if, like me, you’re not too keen on G-spot stuff but want a little extra from your clit sucker. The only downside is that the vibrations can overpower the clit sucker motion — as the whole toy ends up vibrating, not just the bulb — meaning you have to keep the vibration settings low and the clit sucking settings high to still feel it.

But, if you’ve got the time and you’re looking for a slow build-up, the combination of vibrations and suction is a match made in heaven — one that has secured the Namii a permanent spot in my toy box.
