Over the last few years, there’s been a lot of talk about the dire state of dating today. Scroll on any social or mainstream media site and you’ll be met with endless discourse about how much dating apps suck, how prevalent bad dating behaviours like ghosting are, and how little sex young people are supposedly having. (All true TBF!) And yet, while these conversations are prevalent, they’re often narrow in their scope, tending to focus on straight relationships and the much-discussed divide between young men and women.
That means that we have a lot of statistics and facts surrounding heterosexual relationships, but less from lesbian and bisexual women and non-binary folk. While there are, of course, writers, influencers, and others discussing sapphic dating, here at Cosmo, we’d love to find out more about the ins and outs of dating as a queer woman or non-binary person today.
What’s the dating scene like for you today? Are you, like the straights, also having a rough time of it, or are things kinda great RN?
To get some insight — and give you a place to vent about or celebrate all your dating woes and joys — we’ve launched a queer dating survey in collaboration with Stonewall. If you’re a cis or trans woman or non-binary person who dates women, we’d love to hear from you!
We want your thoughts on everything from dating apps and queer parties to sex and non-monogamy to your relationship with your exes. We also want to learn about the unique challenges you face as a queer person dating today, how the current political climate is shaping your experiences, and how, exactly, you meet likeminded people to vibe with. In short, we want to find out all your dating highs, lows, and everything in between.
You can find the survey below, and can read some of our LGBTQ+ sex and relationship stories here.
