First Loves Jenny and Ed met at a bar in Brixton in 2018, when Ed came over trying to dance with Jenny and her friends. Despite thinking Ed was full of himself, Jenny quickly fell for his charm and they exchanged numbers. Ed said that Jenny ignored his texts for a few days, before inviting him to her house-warming party the next weekend.

Jenny, a 28-year-old architectural assistant, and Ed, a 31-year-old imports manager, started dating and were together for six months. They became close quickly, meeting each other's siblings early on in the relationship. They bonded over both being very family-oriented, and Ed was Jenny's first partner after her twin brother had passed away four years previously, which she opened up to Ed about.

Ed said that Jenny's independence was one of the qualities that attracted him to her, however Jenny said that the fact they were both so fiercely independent meant they struggled to find time for each other, especially as they'd both been single for a long time.

While the couple said they never argued during their relationship, they made the mutual decision to end it because Ed wasn't ready to commit and both felt the timing wasn't right.

Cosmopolitan UK sent these two exes on a date back in September 2019 to see if there was still a spark. Watch the video below to see how it all went down.

After the date, Jenny said she'd like to see Ed again but that they could never be just friends, while Ed said the timing would have to be right for them to meet up again.

Everyone's clicking on...

Two months later, we caught up with them to see what, if anything, happened next.

Have you seen each other since the date?

Ed: "Jenny and I haven't met up since going on the date, but we have been in contact over message. For now, we're staying friends"

Jenny: "Ed and I haven't seen each other since the dinner. Ed did message me asking if I could produce some architectural drawings for his house, as I'm an architectural assistant. That could have been the prime opportunity to get back in touch, but I turned it down because I was snowed under at work at the time."

What do you think will happen in the future?

Ed: "If I'm honest, I don't think there's anything there between us anymore to pursue a relationship, but I still care for Jenny and hope we can remain friends."

Jenny: "Right now, I'm not sure, but in the future anything could happen."
