If there's one interiors trends we can't stop seeing in the high street homeware stores, it's chrome. The metal is popping up in everything from bedside tables, to chairs, trays and lamps, and right now M&S has the chicest chrome lamp to allow you to dip into the trend for just £39.50.
Chrome, while having a moment this spring, is also a classic material that's been used to decorate our homes for around 100 years, thanks to its roots in the Bauhaus movement.
Though it may sound a tad inaccessible, chrome is actually super easy to incorporate within your home and is ideal for providing a sharper contrast to all the soft textures you may have in your home. It's also technically a neutral but provides a lot more interest than the classic black, white or brown shades we've come to associate with neutral decorating.
If you're hesitant about going full chrome with a large piece of furniture, then a great way to incorporate it into your home is with a decorative item.
We're loving M&S' take on the chrome trend, in particular their Colby Rechargeable Metal Table Lamp which is available for £39.50.
The lamp has a curved cylindrical base and matching umbrella shade in chrome. The lamp is rechargeable, so you don't have any ugly wires disrupting the flow of your home. When fully charged the lamp can provide up to eight hours of light and because it's wireless it means you can switch up it's location with ease.
It would work well in a lounge to break up all the cosy soft textures typically found in a living room, or get two and place them on either side of your bed for a Bauhaus-inspired look in your bedroom.
The lamp also comes in a brass metal, if you prefer a slightly warmer feel to your lamp.
