When it comes to decorating your home, yellow never seems like the easiest option of colours to use. It can be too garish, and just seems to clash with everything. However, this spring we've never seen so much yellow pop up across homeware, and it's so refreshing to see. And so we're here to prove you can use yellow throughout your home, particularly butter yellow, and M&S has just the cushion to dip into the trend with.
The mellow muted butter yellow shade is ideal if you're unsure about weaving yellow into your home. It's closer to a neutral than it is a bright yellow, but a bit more vibrant than a classic beige or ecru, ideal if you want more colour in your home without going overboard. And at this time of year, when the sun is finally starting to make an appearance and the flowers are going into bloom, it can be nice to bring in that fresh and warm feeling to your living room.
Which is why we'll be shopping M&S' Pure Cotton Large Embroidered Scallop Cushion which comes in a butter yellow shade and is just £19.50.
See the cushion here:
Not only does it use this season's trending colour, but is also includes the trending scallop edge which has been dominating the interiors market for the last few years. We also love the slightly darker yellow embroidery on the edge which makes it look more expensive than it is.
This cushion (we'd get a pair) would work well in the majority of living rooms. If you've got a neutral sofa it will work to brighten it up and if you've got a darker navy or green sofa, this will be a nice accent colour to provide some contrast.
The cushion cover is made from 100 per cent cotton and the internal stuffing is polyester. It also comes in other shades too including grey, ecru, blue and a blue and pink combo.
We're not the only fans of the cushion, with many M&S reviewers rating it highly. One shopper said of the cushion, "Lovely, well worth the money, very well made, will definitely recommend." And another said: "Extremely good quality and value for money. Easily washable as they are zipped covers."
We're so ready for spring now!
