Anyone else sweating? Yes, the heatwave may be upon us, but I seem to have achieved the impossible and am now staying cool during the 25 degree plus temperatures, thanks to one handy new gadget I predict will be used a lot this summer. Introducing the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan, aka the new love of your life. The fan launched in the UK earlier this month and as a big advocate of a good fan, I was curious to see how this one holds up to our other go to options. So it is worth it? Here's my review of the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan.
What is Shark's FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan?
Released at the beginning of April in the UK the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan is a portable cordless fan, that can have up to 12 hours of cordless run time, meaning it can be used indoors and outdoors. Its unique selling feature is the misting technology which which allows cool water to be misted across you while the fan is going.
It has up to 20 metres of reach, with five fan speeds, and two smart breeze modes - either continuous mist or interval mist.
It retails for £129.99 and comes in a variety of colours - grey, lime green, lavender, pink, and blue. And the dimensions are: height - 29cm, width - 21cm and depth - 22cm.
What do we think of the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan?
For me, the marker of a truly good fan comes down to three things. 1. I can assemble it without reading the instructions. 2. It actually keeps me cool, and 3. It isn't overbearingly noisy. And the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan easily ticks all three of these boxes.
I am not someone who enjoys reading instruction manuals (no matter how essential they may be) but thankfully you don't actually have to for the Shark fan as they're literally integrated into the fan in easy to peel off stickers. It was super easy to set up and I instantly turned it on and started experimenting with the fun features.
Most importantly, the fan speed itself. There are five fan speeds and I found I was easily cooled down by just the first two speeds, and rarely needed to go up to the full speed. Although when I did it was seriously cooling. It is also quite loud when on the full speed, so I tend to use it on one or two, which is not disruptive at all and is quiet enough to have on during a video team meeting.
The other feature which I am beyond obsessed with is the misting feature. All you do is fill up the 150ml water tank, open the front nozzle and turn on one of the two misting features. You're given a gentle misting that feels like you've been transported to some heavenly spa and it will cool you down fast.
The fan can be run wireless without the charging cord for up to 12 hours, providing it's had enough charging time. (Side note: You can also use it while it's plugged in and charging). The fan's power stays the same and so it's ideal for taking outside too and from an aesthetic point of view, it's a lot nicer to look at without the ugly charging cable.
Speaking of aesthetics, while a fan is never going to be the most attractive item in your home, the Shark FlexBreeze does fit in more seamlessly to my current decor than other fans have done in the past, thanks to the fun colours. I have the light blue shade fan and it doesn't look out of place.
The only thing I didn't like about the fan, and this is peak laziness on my part, is that it doesn't come with a remote control. This isn't essential but when you're half asleep and want to turn the fan down a setting, it's a tad annoying to get out of bed to then alter the settings or turn it off. Apart from that I could not love the fan more.

Don't just take it from me, as many other Shark shoppers have also highly rated the fan, here's what they had to say:
"I have always had Dyson fans but saw this and thought give it a go. To say I’m loving it is an understatement! It is very quiet, fan speeds are great, cools very well and its cordless which is amazing as can take it anywhere I need it at home. Would 100% recommend this product."
"I am so happy with the fan. I bought it because no other fan seemed able to cool me down quickly enough and I have not been disappointed. The variable speeds mean I can still use it when watching TV as it is so quiet and it also works well outside. The water mister is amazing! Really does make it cooler and it doesn't drench you. Well worth the money."
"Excellent little fan. Wasn't expecting much but it delivers strong results. Lots of flexibility, to use indoors outdoors and mist option too. Very happy. Will be so handy as we are getting more into spring and summer period."
"Wow blown away, literally!"
