Syon Park - London
Type of wedding: Alternative
If you want the wow-factor (x100000) this is the place to book. Your ceremony will take place in the Great Hall, with its black-and-white chequered flooring, stunning high ceilings, and antique archways, it’s one of the most Instagram-friendly spots in London. The great conservatory makes for a truly breathtaking backdrop for your wedding reception, with huge glass domed ceilings that can be lit up throughout the evening. Syon Park has far-stretching grounds that offer up amazing spots for picture taking.
There’s no on-site catering facilities, but the in-house team are super helpful when it comes to suggesting suppliers that can work around this (most just have to set-up a kitchen tent behind the conservatory).
Gosfield Hall - Essex
Type of wedding: Opulent
This beautiful country house near Braintree in Essex was built in 1545, and is a former royal residence. Perfect for the bride who dreams of a country fairytale wedding, the venue is stunning both inside and out - we're already jealous of how amazing the pictures will be! It can cater for up to 250 guests, and has 25 bedrooms available, too.
Blake Hall - Essex
Type of wedding: Stately home
This venue is more than just a stately home. While it might look classical at first glance, inside the private grounds you'll find restored barns that are cosy, cool and seriously Instagrammable.
The venue has some bedrooms available for guests, including a cottage for the newly-married couple to enjoy. It's licensed for civil partnership ceremonies, too.
Brown & Green Café in Crystal Palace - London
Type of wedding: A day in the park
If you’re aiming for a day that feels fun, relaxed and a bit outside-the-box, this lakeside venue is a winner. Nestled in London’s Crystal Palace Park above the park’s (delicious) cafe, the floor-to-ceiling windows, leafy green views, and proximity to pedalos (most fun wedding pictures ever) are all major selling points. Add in a team who are flexible, fun and who bend over backwards to help make your day feel chilled, it’s no wonder our very own Editor-in-Chief Claire chose this as her wedding venue in 2024.
Bingham Riverhouse - London
Type of wedding: Outdoor
Richmond’s best kept secret, this small boutique hotel has the most stunning gardens along the bank of the River Thames, perfect for your post-ceremony drinks reception.
The event room has French doors across the whole side, which can be opened up to give an indoor-outdoor vibe. Just outside the main function room is a canopied terrace, which can be lit up at night with fairy lights (giving you peace of mind whatever the weather throws at you).
The hotel is known for it’s creative (and delicious) food, and this translates to the venue’s menu options - which range from a hearty BBQ line-up to a more tradition three-course meal. The hotel’s bedrooms have copper bathtubs and floor-to-ceiling windows, making them perfect for those all-important ‘getting ready’ pics, and of course come midnight you don’t have to worry about taxis home, as everyone can just amble upstairs to their rooms.
Asylum Chapel - London
Type of wedding: Alternative
Located just south of the River Thames in stylish Peckham, this stunning little venue is like having the classic church wedding with a difference. The Grade II listed building was bombed in World War Two, and is now a depilated (and seriously charming) space that is truly stunning when filled with candles and flowers.
You can't, however, hold your reception here - although you're welcome to mingle outside with canapés. But if you're the type to take everyone to the pub for the toast, we can't imagine a more charming venue.
Northbrook Park - London

London isn't generally where you'd imagine finding a more traditional ‘stately home’ wedding vibe, but Northbrook Park certainly delivers that in spades.
Hayne House - Kent
Type of wedding: Countryside
This family-run venue's main selling point is its gorgeous Orangery, which feels like sitting among the flowers - without the risk of rain! Ideal for year-round weddings, the venue claims to be eco-friendly and works with local suppliers to make your big day feel perfect.
Hayne House also has late availability openings often, so if you fancy just getting it all done? This is your place.
Preston Court - Kent

This fairytale venue is entirely unique, and perfect for daydreaming types who want somewhere to inspire imaginations. Surrounded by lakes and gardens, and with plenty of quirky features such as carousel rides, steam engines and vintage organs, it makes for a one-of-a-kind wedding day.
Carlowrie Castle - Edinburgh

Um, hello Disney castle of our dreams! This gorgeous tower is everything we dreamed of as children, and pretty much as adults, too. The castle is also a hotel (and was voted one of the top three in Europe) which makes it feel totally separate from the outside world.
Along with the castle, you'll have access to a marquee in the gardens, which can fit up to 450 guests. The venue has its own chef to make food planning easier, too.
Combermere Abbey - Cheshire
Type of wedding: Classic
This truly secluded venue sits within acres and acres of gardens. The gorgeous glasshouse is where you'll say your vows, and its surrounding maze made from fruit trees makes it feel almost other-worldly. Food is a real focus at this venue, and a delicious meal is guaranteed. The icing on the cake, though, is the starry ceiling in the pavilion, which is surrounded by trees covered in fairy lights. Magical!
Wrenbury Hall - Cheshire
Type of wedding: Preppy
Couples love the input from the venue's team, who can suggest everything from decor to food ideas. Of course, it helps that the wedding itself is held in the gorgeous, 400-year-old stately home - who could fail to be totally in-love?!
Wrenbury Hall has its own caterers, which is great if you're the indecisive types. You do have at least one choice to make, though; whether to say your vows in the Oak Room, the Rose Pagoda or the Orangerie. It's a hard life!
Ramster Hall - Surrey
Type of wedding: Rustic
Located close to the village of Chiddingford in Surrey, Ramster Hall is a family-owned venue that feels extremely personal thanks to its beamed and panelled halls and real log fire in the Long Hall (perfect for winter weddings).
The owners also don’t charge corkage, so you can bring all your own drinks for the day and evening if you like. Otherwise, if you'd rather save the trouble, the venue will run a bar.
Hampton Court House - Surrey
Type of wedding: Opulent
Situated on the edge of Bushy Park in Richmond upon Thames, Hampton Court House is a gorgeous Georgian mansion with a main hall, conservatory, theatre, dining room and private rooms for guests.
The landscaped sunken gardens were designed by the famous astronomer Thomas Wright, and feels romantic for couples who want to snatch some private moments away from the madness.
The Old Barn - Devon

This unique wedding venue really is one-of-a-kind. Once the milking parlour for a dairy farm, it's now a converted barn with oak beams and surrounding gardens. Rockbeare Manor - Devon

The Normans - Yorkshire

The Normans doesn't charge per guest, instead offering one full package for as many attendees as you like. The price includes use of their venue, gorgeous lighting (hello, twinkly fairy lights), bathrooms, dance floor, stage, tables and chairs. They'll then help you organise catering entertainment and a bar. Sounds easy, looks gorgeous... win, win.
The Old Library - Birmingham

This light, airy room is the perfect backdrop for a colourful wedding. It's literally an old library (surprise!) and is located in Birmingham's creative quarter, so couldn't be more perfect for couples who want something a bit different. High ceilings and lots of natural light make it truly unique and memorable.
Tredudwell Manor - Cornwall
Type of wedding: Countryside
This flexible venue can be formal or laid-back, depending on your preference. Weddings can be held outside (in a temple, no less) or within the venue, while menus can be anything from a buffet to food cooked over the wood fire. Those who love to dance the night away will be pleased to know that the venue will be open until 1am.
