Sure, Starbursts are a fave amongst kids. But this recipe's for the grown-ups!

We've taken everyone's favourite childhood sweets to make fruity flavoured vodka that pairs p-e-r-f-e-c-t-l-y with sparkling water or fizzy lemonade for the ultimate summer serve. You're not going to believe how good this spritzer really tastes.

Garnished with fresh strawberries, this really is the perfect batch cocktail.

Ingredients

For the Starburst vodka

  • 75 g

Starburst sweets, mainly red and orange

  • 200 ml

    vodka

For each cocktail

  • 25 ml

    vodka

  • 100 ml

    sparkling water or fizzy lemonade

  • 2

    chunks of watermelon

  • 1

    strawberry, cut in half

Directions

    1. Step 1Unwrap the sweets and put into a large clean jar. Close the lid and let sit overnight, shaking occasionally.
    2. Step 2The next day, do not shake, and strain the vodka through cheesecloth or a mesh sieve lined with kitchen roll to get rid of the creamy layer on top of the vodka. You should be left with about 200ml of clear pink starburst vodka.
    3. Step 3For each cocktail, pour 25ml of the infused vodka into a short glass filled with ice. Top up with sparkling water, or lemonade if you prefer sweeter drinks.
    4. Step 4Thread the watermelon chunks and strawberries onto a skewer and add to the glass to garnish.
