With the weather becoming slightly warmer, we can already start dreaming of those summer evenings with an Aperol Spritz cocktail in hand.

Now, there's another reason to be excited as Aldi have launched its own Italian Aperitif drink called Aperini, which will be priced at £6.99.

This new drink, which can be perfectly combined with Prosecco and soda water to make the mouthwatering cocktail, is half the price of Aperol, which costs around £15 in supermarkets.

Aperini is infused with orange, rhubarb, vanilla and herbs and spices, according to the retailer.

"Not only is our Aperini Italian Aperitif perfectly on-trend, it's also in keeping with our commitment to providing our customers with products of incredible quality and at the best possible price," Aldi's joint managing director of corporate buying Julie Ashfield said.

"With customers planning Spring weekend get-togethers, we were keen to extend our spirits offering by introducing a perfect alternative for creating the popular spritz drink. It's equally delicious served over ice with a fresh fruit garnish and a sprig of mint."

Aperini will be available in stores nationwide from the 20th March.
