It's currently Copenhagen Fashion Week — a city as much renowned for its street style as its sustainable, Scandi-chic designers. If the past couple of days have taught me anything, it's that brown is set to be a huge colour for Autumn/Winter 2026. And while the runways work a season in advance, there's no reason to wait to incorporate the shade into your wardrobe (particularly as I've spotted it just as much in what guests are wearing to the shows).
If you've been loving burgundy and all things wine-coloured, get ready to easily switch it up, as chocolate brown is the new hue to know.
A matching co-ord
When you're stuck on what to wear, a head-to-toe colour or matching set can really save the day. Cool-girl brand Anne Sofie Madsen showcased a shearling hooded duffel coat and mini skirt in chocolate brown. This ultra-cosy look was paired with the designer's take on Ugg's Quill Ballet Trainer (the show included four uniquely customised Ugg styles which launched this month including the Otzo Clog, Minimel trainer and Goldenglow Sandal) in a lighter shade, giving the overall look depth.
With a mini bag and skinny scarf
Holzweiler made layers look effortlessly cool, with a mix of different textures including a leather jacket, shirt, waistcoat and sheer skirt. The finishing touches of a pink fuzzy skinny scarf and green micro bag break up all the brown tones and keep the outfit feeling fresh and youthful.
Head scarf and ankle boots
Baum und Pferdgarten's flight-themed show showcased a hazelnut jacket with tartan cuffs and matching trousers tucked into ankle boots. The leather head-scarf adds interest, and the funnel neck shape of the jacket gives a polished edge.
Kilt and clogs
A tartan kilt is a wardrobe staple (particularly for style icon Claudia Winkleman), and Stem's brown fringed version has shot straight to the top of my wishlist. Worn with black clogs and a sleeveless top, this is the perfect spring outfit inspo — you can add a wool jumper while still in the colder months.
Everyone's clicking on...
Leather jacket and tweed trousers
You can't beat a classic leather jacket. The Garment styled theirs with a white scalloped scarf on top, which is an easy hack to make your outfit look more interesting. The smart trousers and loafers make this a dreamy everyday look.
Cardigan and stirrup leggings
Button-up jacket and trousers
Head-to-toe brown is a bit of a recurring theme here, but the key to pulling it off is to mix different shades or tones. MDKT Studios added flashes of grey to this brown ensemble, in the tartan beret and jumper peeking out from underneath the jacket. The snow boots and gloves make this a practical yet pulled-together outfit choice.
Fur coat and shorts
Who says you can't wear both? As we shift into spring, this is a fun combo to try out — add a pair of low-denier tights if you want some extra coverage.
