Wide leg jeans are always in style. Regardless of which silhouette you opt for — boyfriend, baggy, barrel, I could go on — the fit and how you feel in them are what is most crucial. If you find a pair that are both comfortable and flattering, you've struck gold — and you should hang onto them for as long as you can.
Now, what to wear them with? It can be easy to get stuck in the same old 'jeans and a nice top' dressing routine. However, as we're moving into colder weather, the opportunity for layering and making your outfits more interesting is finally here (sorry, summer lovers).
Wide leg jeans are timeless, yes, but they also featured heavily across the Autumn/Winter 2025 catwalks — AKA, they are very in right now. Chloé's high-waisted pair were styled with a romantic, lace blouse, long check overcoat and T-bar ballet flats.
Balenciaga's had more of a baggy fit, with point-toe silver pumps peeking out from underneath the dragging hems and paired with a fluoro pink, fur-trimmed puffer jacket.
Starting to get some winter 'fit inspo? Good, because there's more to come. The street-style set have put wide leg denim to the test out in the real world, and these are some failsafe outfit formulas you'll come back to time and time again.
Double denim and trainers
The Canadian tuxedo is always a good idea. Denim on top, denim on bottom, you can't go wrong. Darker indigo shades are particularly trending right now. Wear with your favourite trainers for a comfy yet stylish every day outfit.

Leather jacket and animal print flats
Leather and denim are a match made in heaven. Pair complimentary, muted tones together and then bring patterns into your outfit with a pair of animal print shoes.
Statement belt and turtleneck top
Low slung, baggy Y2K-style denim needs a tighter-fitting top-half to balance out the voluminous silhouette. A statement belt buckle adds attitude.
Trench coat and loafers
A classic trench coat goes with everything, including your favourite wide-leg jeans. Finish off with some two-tone loafers and silk scarf for the ultimate old Hollywood vibe.
Chore jacket and kitten heels
Unexpected pairings, like this chore jacket and fluffy kitten heels, make for a super cool outfit. The length of the panelled, stonewash denim works perfectly with the heel height.
Blazer and ballet flats
It doesn't get more classic than this. The easiest way to look chic and pulled together is a blazer and jeans outfit combo. This wearer has updated the look with a pair of sporty sunglasses.
