As we all know, there is a sliding scale of venues, occasions and events that may range from you opting for a pared back jeans and sandals for a casual get-together, or leaning towards your best dress and boots for a loved one's special birthday.
The daunting landscape of incoming digi-cam snaps and IG reels can be a lot to ask — so we suggest going for something low effort and high-impact (and subjectively comfy too). Let's be honest, there's many a path to take for a day that starts with brunch — who knows, you could end up being out until 2am, so it's best to strike the right balance with a look that keeps you feeling and looking your best. Canadian Tuxedo
Whether you're recovering from the night before or not, a classic double-denim look will almost always grant you a compliment (or 7). It's approachable and is typically appropriate across the majority of venues with a simple swap of shoes. Personally, a brown pointed boot or heeled pump is my favourite way to finish this one off. Trust me!
Mixed Prints
If you're off to slightly more relaxed brunch spot, why not try a little something fun? Mixed prints will always give the illusion of a thought-out formula, but I assure you it's not as hard as it looks. Aim for a piece with a print slightly bigger in scale and one slightly smaller. You can also go for two clashing options: take this stripe and tartan mix as a prime example.
Statement Knit Dress
A knit dress is comfortable and chic — need I say more? Especially one with a cool hardware detail or asymmetric hemline like this, you can truly have the best of both worlds (that's comfort and style, everyone). Layer on the silver chunky jewellery and finish with a shiny black boot for that added 'je ne sais quoi'.
Suede Jacket and Jeans
Some of us dream of that iconic YSL aura (I'm talking on Bella and Hailey's level...the girls that get it) but I'm here to tell you it's not actually that hard to achieve. A chocolate suede bomber jacket, your old school tie and some relaxed fit denim are all you need! Chuck on some tassled loafers for a truly 'stole this from my man' vibe.

Ruffled Mini Dress
Lean into those ultra-femme textures like tulle and chiffon with a piece like this statement mini dress to be the star of the show (or the brunch table). Lean into tougher touches like a pair of black sunnies and boots for an impactful edge.
Polo and Leather Skirt
Definitely not one for pulling punches. For more of a true ladylike vibe (Prada lovers, I hear you) go for a statement like a red knit and pink leather skirt. With the colour doing the heavy lifting, pare back your accessories with simple strappy heels and a matching bag.
A Leather Jacket and Cords
Autumn/Winter at its very core — a 90s black leather coat worn with a warm-coloured cords. I could not recommend this more. Dress up with a pointed boot or down with a clog and you are as good as gold.
