It's the most wonderful time of the year! And by that I mean, the temps dropping, the snow (fingers crossed) falling and everyone switching to their snuggliest winter coats – which basically means either faux fur or a puffer jacket . Maybe it's the magic surrounding the festive season, but the wintertime just contributes so much eye candy.
There are those so-ugly-they're-cute Christmas jumper moments and the New Year's Eve parties that require cocktail attire , but then there's also tons of room for making everyday statements that let you try out the winter's biggest fashion trends . Maybe you find dressing up in freezing temperatures difficult, but that's all the more reason to embrace all things snuggly, cosy and chic. Because, hey, you can give a good slay and still feel warm.
Read and shop along for some fabulous winter outfits that'll make you feel like you're on your A-game and ready for your close-up, even if all you really want is to be at home in your pyjamas .
Something Shaggy
Ahh, time for all things fuzzy, furry or shaggy, you know what I mean? And just because your outerwear is over-the-top, doesn't mean everything else has to be (unless you want it to be). Add a pair of jeans and trainers to dress your look down.
Add a Hood
Torn between wanting to stay in bed and serving a fabulous moment? Wear clothing that will envelop you in the warmest hug: a knitted hood , cosy cardigan, and so on.
A Pop of Colour
How about a whimsical quilted jacket ? It's guaranteed to cheer you up all winter long. A denim skirt and heeled leather boots is the perfect topper for your ensemble, with a brushed scarf to keep you warm.
An Oversized Puffer
Step out of the box with a puffer jacket that's larger than life. Boring black? We don't know her. (Just kidding, we love a black puffer – but we also love the option to go technicolour for a change. Wear with a colourful sweater, your favourite jeans and metallic shoes for maximal effect.
Colour Block
Any two colour combination will work to create a sharp and slick colour block 'fit. Personally, we'll be channelling a high-fashion Elsa from Frozen with a burgundy leather jacket, baby blue dress and matching gloves.
The Elevated-Cool Combo
Grab a bright hoodie and make it extra stylish with a wool peacoat, pastel slingbacks, a handy bag and some shades.
Burgundy Everything
In case you missed it, burgundy is all the rave right now... Like, even more than usual! Show out in the pretty hue with a matching wool bomber and skirt as well as cool buckle boots.
Butter Yellow
Another hue we just haven't been able to get enough of this year: butter yellow. But who said it's solely a spring and summer colour? Yellow (especially in the form of a fabulous coat) is very pretty for winter – just ask Blake Lively. Wear a dress with a graphic design, add a yellow scarf and make your bold coat the focal point of your outfit.
Statement Knits
Want to know what's so chic? Obviously, any and all cream clothing (like this knit dress). For some contrast, throw on a black blazer jacket. Keep your look elevated with pearl accent earrings.
Bold Leather Puffers
You'll look like a street style star if you step into the scene with a leather puffer jacket. Take your style up a notch with a matching leather midi skirt and boots. For an added element of surprise, a slouchy animal print bag will do you really well. Oh, and don't forget your sunglasses!
