With the cold winter weather comes new and exciting fashion and accessory trends. The autumn/winter 2024 runway gave us stellar bag trends like the east-to-west bags, wristlets, and bag charms. We love seeing these styles, and they're sure to maintain their popularity well into the new year.
But, as we inch our way closer to the spring/summer 2025 season, next season's runways also showed us some certain styles that we're ready to adopt ASAP. I'm talking bags with belts or pockets (you'll see what I mean in a bit), fringe and vanity styles. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to incorporate some of these trends into my winter bag collection.
So, without further ado, check out five of our favourite bag trends for this winter below. P.S. If you're keen to update your look for the chilly season, make sure to check out our fave winter shoe trends, too!
Slouchy Suede
While suede has never really been out of style, it's having its moment this winter. Just ask Bella Hadid and Iris Law, who've both been spotted toting brown suede bags recently. The SS25 runway debuted some gorgeous slouchy suede styles, but these pieces are ideal for cold weather, too! Try the trend for yourself with a new everyday suede tote.
Belted Bags
Belts on bags were a major trend on the SS25 runway in shows like Balmain and Prada. The quickest way to toughen up slouchy silhouettes and feminine top handles, keep an eye out for oversized buckle detailing to nail the look and embrace the style with your winter bags.
Fringe Fever
The boho staples are back in a major way and that includes fringe to effortlessly spice up any and every outfit. Following on from the boho revival seen on the AW24 catwalks, the trend continues into SS25.
Vanity Bags
This handheld purse style, which resembles a cosmetic bag or old-school vanity case, was a trend we saw on the Versace SS25 runway. It's the perfect style for going out in the winter – compact and chic!
Pocket Bags
This winter, we're embracing utility-style bags with lots of exterior pockets. Like cargo pants, but on your bag. This style has been trending for a while now, and a few brands like Chloé and Acne Studios even gave us some fun pocket-style bags on the SS25 runway.
