When Rosie Huntington-Whiteley posted photos from her Italian holiday lounging on a yacht in Hunza G’s Domino swimsuit, what followed was an unprecedented shopping frenzy. Her exact swimsuit sold out almost instantly, crashing the website in the process.
This was hardly Hunza G’s first brush with A-list notoriety. Originally established in the ‘80s, the London-based swimwear brand was at one time best known for the white and blue cut-out mini dress worn by Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Iconic? You know it.
Last year, the brand’s designs made their way onto our screens again as part of the costume design in Prime Video’s The Girlfriend, starring Olivia Cooke – a sleek nod to the label’s continued relevance in both fashion and pop culture.
After a relaunch in 2015 and a new creative director, it didn't take long for the label to amass a cult following and celebrity fanbase including the likes of Suki Waterhouse, Rihanna, Sabrina Carpenter and – as previously mentioned – Rosie HW. In fact, Rosie's beauty brand Rose Inc went on to collaborate with Hunza G on a limited edition nine-piece collection in 2023.
So, what is it about Hunza G swimwear that stars and editors seriously rate? In short, it all comes down to its signature seersucker crinkle fabric. Designed as ‘one size fits all’ – well, a UK size 6 to 16 – the fabric stretches to your body for a comfortable, flattering fit. Meaning, if your weight fluctuates or you get pregnant, you shouldn't have to buy a new bikini as your Hunza G will stretch and shrink with your changing body. Bye-bye, maternity swimwear and hello, sustainable shopping!
Think it sounds too good to be true? We decided to put Hunza G to the test by recruiting three members of the Cosmopolitan UK team, from size 6 to size 16, to test the designs. After all, with prices starting at £165 for a swimsuit and £170 for a bikini set, they're definitely investment pieces.
What's new from Hunza G in 2026
For spring 2026, Hunza G introduces dendera – the name of an ancient Egyptian temple for Hathor, goddess of beauty. Modelled by British sprint star Imani-Lara Lansiquot, the collection leans into softness and strength in equal measure – a natural extension of the brand’s body-loving ethos.
At the heart of the drop is the return of Hunza G’s signature Original CrinkleTM fabric in two new shades: Metallic Ice Blue, a cool-toned shimmer with a barely-there silver sheen, and Butter, a soft, sun-warmed yellow that feels destined for golden hour. Metallic Chocolate also makes a comeback – a rich neutral that continues to be one of the brand’s most wearable colourways – while new ice-cream-toned jelly bead detailing adds a subtle, light-catching finish to selected styles.
Cosmo's Hunza G review
Kara Kia, Shopping Editor
I wore Hunza G’s Domino swimsuit in blush – the exact style worn by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – on a recent trip to Palermo, and honestly, it was the most comfortable swimsuit I’ve ever worn. I’m 5'7" and a curvy size 8, and the fit was absolutely spot-on. The fabric is thicker than most others I’ve tried, made from a tightly compressed, ultra-soft material that hugs your body without feeling restrictive.
I was slightly worried it might feel a little too modest compared to what I usually wear on holiday – but the cut is just right: not too high, not too low. The soft blush shade paired with the tortoise-shell acrylic rings feels timeless and elevated.
What I love most is how Hunza G’s signature one-size-fits-most design really does adapt to your shape. It’s flattering, forgiving, and feels like it truly grows with you. I can easily see myself wearing it during and after pregnancy, if and when that time comes.

I’ve always loved the look of Hunza G swimwear, but it never occurred to me that they would fit my curvy size 16 body. So, when I got the chance to try out both a swimsuit and a bikini, I was elated. The Celine Swim in the metallic moss colourway has slightly more coverage compared to other swimsuit styles from the brand and to my surprise, it stretched over my 40F bust with ease. It was super flattering on my front and gave my cleavage a good perk up, too.
As for the Nadine Stripe Bikini, I was absolutely terrified about fitting into this. Holding it up in front of my body, it looked like something a seven-year-old could wear. However, as soon as I got it on and stretched it (and I mean STRETCHED) over my boobs, it looked amazing! The hoop detailing at the bust was really doing some heavy lifting, and for that, I applaud it. Plus, unlike the swimsuit, there were no problems when it came to the back. In fact, it was really flattering all over, earning me a fair few compliments around the pool.

I’ve got Hunza G’s Nancy one-shoulder bikini in a rust colour. I’m 5'6" and a size 6, and quite straight up and down with a shorter torso and longer legs. Because of this, I can find getting the right bikini bottoms a bit tricky – they somehow often end up both digging into my hips and bunching at the bum.
I was unsure of the one-size-fits-all approach previously, having always bought bigger tops than bottoms, separately. But the Hunza G bottoms, with the seamless crinkle and stretch fabric, means they sit just right. Even when wet from a dip!
This bikini has been with me from the beaches of Brighton to the shores of Sicily, cliff-jumping into Marseille’s waters and in the chlorinated pool at London Fields Lido. With frequent outings and washes – I can confirm its durability, whether the British weather agrees is another story...
