We probably don’t need to tell you that The Little Mermaid is coming out tomorrow. You’ve probably already shed a tear at Halle Bailey's ‘Part of Your World’ rendition, poured over the pap shots from the film's London premiere, not to mention numerous #Mermaidcore trends on TikTok.
What you might not know, though, is that our good friends at Pandora are dropping a mermaid-themed collection in collaboration with Disney's upcoming film – today!
The seven-piece collection is frankly magical. Pandora is always on the money when it comes to big cultural moments – the brand has collaborated with the likes of Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel and Disney already – but this particular partnership might just be its best yet.
That's because the OG animated The Little Mermaid film from 1989 has a special place in Millennials' hearts – and the new 2023 film resonates with Gen Z-ers too, thanks in large part to the choice of Halle Bailey as Ariel, the singer/songwriter/actress who is one half of sister duo Chloe x Halle and a key character in the hit show Grown-Ish.
It also helps that the jewellery is really great, too. If the brand’s previous special-edition collections looked a little novelty, these whimsical pieces will have women and men of all ages queueing up. Basically, thanks to the Mermaidcore trend, as well as crystal culture and the popularity of shell jewellery, these pieces are bang on trend. So if you’re not already a fan of Pandora, prepare to be converted.
The key Pandora X The Little Mermaid pieces are based on the film’s three main characters: Ariel, Sebastian the crab, and Ursula (played by Melissa McCarthy of Bridesmaids fame).
For the hardcore fans out there, there are two mermaid-themed Ariel charms and a red Murano glass crab charm. For those who prefer a subtler take, there are mixed-metal shell earrings and a matching necklace, two iridescent purple glass pieces inspired by Ursula, and two gold-vermeil shell pieces in the collection.

All of the charms are designed to be worn with Pandora's snake chain bracelets, but you can also style them onto a simple chain necklace to create a cool pendant, or try threading them onto a pair of hoop earrings.
