Every single one of Margot Robbie’s most iconic, gothic romance looks from the Wuthering Heights press tour

No one does method dressing like Margot

By

When it comes to press tour looks, Margot Robbie truly reigns supreme. We all remember her iconic Barbie run, right? For every media appearance tied to the pop-culture phenomenon, she showed up in high-fashion looks inspired by vintage Barbie doll outfits. It was a marketing power move, yes, but also a genuinely joyful, deeply creative way to honour the work itself.

And now Margot and her longtime stylist, Andrew Mukamal (who also styles Hailey Bieber, FYI!), are back at it for the promotional tour of Wuthering Heights, the upcoming film adaptation of Emily Brontë’s legendary novel. And as someone who’s never read the book and knows nothing about the plot, the styling alone has me locked in for when the film hits theatres next week.

Because Wuthering Heights is a gothic romance, Margot has fully leaned into the darkly romantic aesthetic for her public appearances – think sculptural corsets, elaborate lace, velvet chokers, fantastical feathers, and intricate detailing. Many of these looks are custom creations designed for each appearance, and every one feels like it's telling its own story. Truly, no one does method dressing like Margot.

So if you’re like me, eagerly trying to keep up with Margot’s press tour looks, this is where you'll find all of the leading lady's noir fairytale ensembles leading up to the film’s theatrical premiere on 13 February.

The look that kicked off the press tour – AKA the look that had the internet in a frenzy after Andrew posted it on his Instagram. Margot wore a black Roberto Cavalli mini dress with dramatic billowing sleeves, paired with sleek black Christian Louboutin heels and sparkling Cece Jewellery.

A gothic take on lace, Margot wore this Alexander McQueen dress by Sean McGirr, the fashion house’s current creative director, paired with jewellery by Jessica McCormack. The crimped hair waves were the cherry on top!

It’s all in the details: the corset top with a ruffled back, the lace-up sleeves, the barely-there skirt, the intricately crafted bra, and not to mention, the allover snakeskin! With so many elements at play, everything comes together seamlessly, like a perfectly solved puzzle. Margot’s striking three-piece is by Dilara Findikoglu, styled with coordinating Manolo Blahnik pumps and sparkling Jessica McCormack jewellery.

If this doesn't scream gothic glamour, I don't know what does. The dramatic black-to-red ombré feels like a deliberate nod to the film's recurring use of red (a colour that co-star Jacob Elordi has said represents the shared heartbeat between Cathy and Heathcliff – naturally). Margot’s stunning gown is a custom Schiaparelli Couture by Daniel Roseberry, the fashion house’s current creative director. She paired it with the late Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic Taj Mahal diamond necklace and custom earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. NBD.

A sweet slip dress with a twist, this moody frock is by Mark Gong, paired with a giant clutch handbag and bandage leather heels from the designer. I’m personally obsessed with the tiny pink bows scattered throughout her hair.

Here’s proof that Margot can turn a traditionally formal theme into a laid-back, elevated moment. The floral corset top and belted denim are Dilara Findikoglu, paired with the brand’s first-ever Hysteria bag. She finished the look with Paris Texas pumps and jewellery by Jessica McCormack.

In my opinion, this is the standout look so far – avant-garde, ultra high-fashion, and a flawless nod to the project. Margot’s floor-length coatdress with a soft metallic finish is vintage John Galliano from the designer's SS1992 collection, styled with silver Manolo Blahnik pumps, striking red-hot stockings, and jewellery by Jessica McCormack.

Ah, yes. The look that Jacob Elordi shielded from the rain in what was a soon-to-be iconic moment – and honestly, can you blame him? Margot’s sheer custom Dilara Findikoglu dress, featuring braided details from real hair woven into the design, nearly broke the internet. She accessorised it beautifully with a replica of ‘The Bracelet of Charlotte,’ created in collaboration with Wyedean and the Brontë Parsonage Museum, custom earrings by Jessica McCormack, vintage Boucheron brooches, and custom Manolo Blahnik shoes.

Even in a low-key mini dress, of course, Margot went corseted. It’s only right! Another vintage design, this leather piece with its quilted bubble skirt is from Vivienne Westwood's AW1988 collection. Christian Louboutin heels complete the look.
