Red outfits are one of this season's biggest trends, here's how celebs are styling the look

❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

By ,

Move over Barbie pink! We're seeing a *lot* of red this season, but in a good way. ICYMI, the fiery hue is one of the biggest fashion trends for spring/summer and we're already fans. Spotted on the runways of Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors, and Sinéad O'Dwyer (to name just a few), 'knock your socks off red' is the colour to know right now.

Off the runway, celebrities are also debuting their own stylish spins on the flaming tone. For starters, it was heckin' everrrrrrywhere at last year's Oscars and, since then, red lewks are showing no signs of abating – during awards szn and otherwise.

So, if you're considering trying the monochrome brief, A-listers are the perfect place to start for slightly more wearable outfit inspo. Don't be fooled, though, this trend lends itself to bold, head-to-toe get-ups that are unapologetically chic.

Here's how celebrities are styling the red trend, on and off the red carpet.

1

Ashley Park

To celebrate part two of Emily In Paris season four finally dropping on Netflix, Ashley Park took to Instagram to share a photo dump dedicated to her gorgeous red lace dress worn in celebration of the long-awaited occasion. The ‘Pomegranate’ dress from Bach Mai's SS24 collection featured draped silk chiffon over a revealed bustier and accented with black ribbons. A slice of pizza provided the perfect accessory.

Jenna Ortega deviated from her all black Beetlejuice Beetlejuice method dressing wardrobe to attend the 2024 Venice Film Festival. Coordinating with the red carpet, she wowed in a custom Christian Dior red tulle gown that was entirely backless with a wired bodice sculpted into a heart shape and covered with layers of ruffled taffeta, leaving cut-outs at either side of her torso. She wore matching red boy short bloomers beneath the subtly sheer flowing skirt, further coordinating with her beauty look that featured a bold red lip and smokey red eyeshadow. Delicate silver jewellery completed the look.

Khloé Kardashian

Khloé Kardashian earned style points *and* sister points in her red jersey mini dress. Not only was the design seriously stunning in the hue of the season and nailing the cut-out trend with its twisted shoulder strap detail, it was in fact from Kylie Jenner's fashion brand, Khy. Leaving the dress to do all the talking, Khloé added barely-there perspex heeled mules to her feet, with her only accessory a delicate silver necklace. As for her beauty look, she wore her long blonde hair off her face, scraped back into a sleek bun. Radiant, glowy makeup provided the perfect finishing touch.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian ticked off two trends in one with her red, racy dress. Featuring underwired cups, sheer panels, boning, and corset-style lacing, the lingerie-inspired dress nailed the underwear as outerwear look. Her touselled dark mane gave a "just rolled out of bed" feel to emphasise the nightwear associations, with a red lip coordinating to the 'fit the only required accessory.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria attended the Global Gift Gala in Spain wearing a gorgeous red satin gown that had so. many. cut-outs. As well as a slashed neckline and keyhole cut-away at the bust, a further slice of fabric was missing across her stomach. If that wasn't enough, the asymmetric neckline featured a padded shoulder for even more drama. Yep, safe to say this dress was made for dancing on tables - which is exactly what Eva did! She is the literal embodiment of the woman in the red dress dancing emoji.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum kicked off the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in a seriously gorge scarlet ball gown. She looked like a modern-day princess in the Saiid Kobeisy SS24 Couture design that featured off-the-shoulder straps, a sweetheart neckline and a huuuuuge ball gown skirt that featured an asymmetric hemline to show off her model legs. Rather than glass slippers, however, she opted for sparkling silver Louboutins. Statement silver chandelier earrings completed the look.

Megan Fox

The only thing that could make us love the red trend more is Megan Fox wearing the hue head-to-toe to clash with her pink hair in one of our all time fave colour combos. Appearing on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, the actress wore a figure-hugging bandage dress that featured a long-sleeved sheer underlay for the occasion. She styled the dress with red tights and red patent heeled sandals. Yep, forget pop of red, follow Megan's lead and go big or go home.

Anya Taylor-Joy

As a longtime proponent of the bright red trend, we weren't altogether surprised to see Anya Taylor-Joy matching her outfit to the carpet at a Grammy's party. That's not to say we're not totally obsessed with this look, though. Where other celebs tend to reach for super see-through naked ensembles for big Hollywood events, Anya showed off her unique fashion sense in a retro-style red patent leather mini-skirt suit by Courrèges.

Combined with a black polo neck jumper, sheer tights, glossy red lip and square-toe patent knee-high boots, the whole vibe is *so* '60s while still feeling completely current. It's like Anya took cues from her stylish Queen's Gambit character Beth Harmon, and added a fun modern twist of her own. Love, love, LOVE.

After cementing her status as a fully-fledged fashion girlie with multiple appearances on the FROW throughout Paris Fashion Week, Kylie Jenner is still repping the fash pack – this time perched on the sidelines at the "Les Sculptures" Jacquemus' Fashion Show.

For the occasion, Kylie made sure she was on trend. The youngest of the Kardashian / Jenner clan wasn't just repping the colour of the moment, she wore the hue head-to-toe (as has been the confirmed preferred styling from the A-List, just scroll to see).

Her puff sleeve red mini featured a keyhole cut-out at the chest with draped ruching across her torso. She accessoried with glossy scarlet slingbacks featuring bow embellishments on her feet, while a ladylike top handle bag was placed beneath her seat. Black cat-eye sunglasses completed the look. Très chic.

Anya Taylor-Joy was giving punk princess at the Christian Dior Spring Summer 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week. She paired a red lace dress by the designer with black chunky lace-up knee-high combat boots. With her long icey blonde hair worn down in loose unbrushed waves, the whole vibe was utter perfection.

Chloë Sevigny

The boldest way to wear this season's hottest colour is head-to-toe, and of course Chloë Sevigny understood the assignment. Posing for the cover of Vogue France, the actress wore a ruffled layered Burberry dress with bright tomato-hued Calzedonia tights and YSL patent slingbacks in yet another shade of scarlet. Confirmation – not that we needed it – she is the ultimate fashion icon.

Margot Robbie

Red for the red carpet? It's a no-brainer really, and further proof that the trend is definitely here to stay. Margot Robbie is the latest celebrity to embrace the head-to-toe red aesthetic, as she attended the 2024 Critics Choice Awards in a glorious custom Balmain gown, featuring a Bardot neckline with 3D rose embellishments, wet-look pleats on the bodice, and a dramatic train. Talk about high glamour! The actor completed the look with a major diamond ring and matching earrings for a touch of extra sparkle.

It looks like Margot Robbie and Emily Blunt might have been in cahoots as they planned their 2024 Critics Choice Awards looks... Both wore glamorous red gowns with elegant floral details – though Emily's was a one-shoulder wonder covered in glittering beads too. The actor's look was from Armani Privé's AW23 Couture show, and *perfect* for the red carpet in our opinion with its dramatic shoulder corsage and chic asymmetric design. Emily paired the dress with Tiffany & Co. jewellery and a matching red lip. Divine.

Ariana Grande

Following her performance alongside Jennifer Hudson and the queen of Christmas herself during Mariah Carey's "Merry Christmas One And All!" in NYC, Ariana Grande took to Instagram to post some behind-the-scenes snaps from the event. Sharing each slide from the carousel in her Instagram Stories, we cannot get enough of her gorgeous off-the-shoulder red mini dress. The silhouette and red satin opera gloves lent a vintage festive feel to the look, and paired with her blonde hair it's giving major Marilyn Monro at Christmas vibes.

Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber’s look for the Rhode Christmas party consisted of a *very* fluffy oversized faux fur coat, not too dissimilar from Father Christmas' own outerwear. However, beneath the jacket, the beauty brand founder donned a metallic micro mini dress with a cross-over high neck. To compensate for the tiny hemline, she added sheer black tights and classic black pumps. Santa could never!

Leighton Meester

Our favourite Upper East Side-er knew exactly what she was doing when she arrived at Amazon's Winter Wonderland holiday party. Leighton's gorgeous red satin halterneck gown complimented the green carpet for all the festive feels. And it's not just the hue of her Silvia Tcherassi Daniela maxi dress that's on trend, the huge 3D flower positioned beneath the bust tapped into the corsage look, too. Christmas perfection.

Shay Mitchell

To hit the red carpet for the annual CFDA Awards in New York, it was only natural that Shay Mitchell would opt for the most stylish shade of the season: tomato red. The actress looked absolutely stunning in a super elegant bright red maxi dress that featured a *very* unexpected detail... Namely, an asymmetrical neckline with a single gloved sleeve. Weird, right?! But strangely enough, it actually looks so chic – especially with that diamond bracelet fastened over the top!

Dua Lipa

After deleting all her Instagram posts, Dua Lipa has been teasing us over the past month with hints of a new music release. And, as well as finally confirming the news, she's also debuted a bold look for the occasion. Scroll to see the singer repping the no trousers trend as she poses in a see-through vest top, white briefs and red tights. White slingback kitten heels completed the look.

Dua is the latest to sport red leg-wear with everyone from EmRata (below) to Pamela Anderson donning red hoisery recently. If wearing red head-to-toe is too bold an ensemble for you, here's your alternative way to tap into the trend – and stay warm this winter.

Emily Ratajkowski

Emerging as the biggest fan of the AW23 colour trend, Emily Ratajkowski was again sporting a scarlet-hued 'fit – this time a negligee-style mini dress. The satin number featured lace overlay on the underwired cups, further adding to the underwear-as-outerwear feel of the design and ticking off a second of autumn's most popular looks. Well, EmRata is always on trend...

Emily Ratajkowski

Posing for British Vogue and sharing the publication's post to her IG stories, Emily Ratajkowski may be very of the moment when it comes to the colour of her head-to-toe red ensemble – but her long-sleeve mock-neck midi dress layered over trousers look is pure '00s nostalgia. Upon closer look, EmRata actually has on stirrup leggings with the elasticated under-foot strap hooked under the heels of her red pumps for maximum '80s energy. Why channel one era, when you can tick off two?
