It's no surprise then designer brands such as Gucci, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and MCM love to dress the young star. The singer's signature style includes hype-y trainers, streetwear and anime influences, and oversized, baggy fits. Previously speaking to Calvin Klein, Billie says: "I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that’s why I wear big baggy clothes: Nobody can have an opinion, because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?... Nobody can be like, 'She’s slim-thick', 'She’s not slim-thick', 'She’s got a flat ass', 'She got a fat ass,'" she continued. "Nobody can say any of that, because they don’t know."
On the flip side, the singer has clarified that she's not being critical of people who choose to dress differently from her – she's simply wearing what makes her happy and hopes other people feel free to do the same. Billie says, "I don’t like that there’s this weird new world of supporting me by shaming people that [may not] want to [dress like me].
Billie went on to debut a whole new aesthetic on the June 2021 cover of British Vogue, commencing the next chapter in her style journey. "Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a sl*t and you’re a whore," she explains. "If I am, then I’m proud. Me and all the girls are hoes, and f*ck it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin—or not—should not take any respect away from you." Billie's beauty MO contributes as much to her aesthetic as her clothes do: from clashing her rainbow hair colours with equally bright outfits to sporting her platinum blonde shaggy bob - the artist is open to experimenting with her look. Another day, another fab Billie 'fit. The singer attended the launch of sustainable bodycare brand CYKLAR in Los Angeles, and put her own unique twist on workwear dressing for the occasion. Billie looks *so* cute and cool in her corseted white pinstripe shirt, paired with midi denim culottes, sheer tights and Gucci loafers.
But the best part of her 'fit? *That* oversized waistcoat, ofc. We thought we'd seen the back of the tailored top trend with the end of summer, but here's Billie making it very clear that waistcoats are back – and should be a style staple all year round. The 21-year-old singer shared photos from a recent photoshoot on Instagram, in which she can be seen rocking a cropped tee emblazoned with the slogan "Missy Sexy", a pair of lil booty shorts, patterned tights and a pair of her signature Air Jordan high-tops. Let's break it down. Up top, the ivory-toned corset features a square neckline with a statement flower affixed to the front, coupled with mint green accents and matching lace sleeves.
