Kate Middleton has more rings than she knows what to do with, so she's taken to wearing them all at once! As noted by Page Six, the Princess of Wales debuted a five-ring stack at the Duchess of Kent's funeral earlier this month – including a relatively new addition.

Like everything Kate wears, there is, of course, hidden meaning or significance in her jewellery choices, too. So, what's the deal with all these rings?

First up is Kate's iconic and instantly recognisable sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which previously belonged to Princess Diana. Prince William proposed to Kate with his mother's ring back in October 2010. When the official announcement was made a month later, Wills explained his reason for using the statement jewel was a way to keep Princess Diana “close to it all” and included in the “fun and excitement.”

The Princess of Wales has been pairing this stunner with her Welsh gold wedding band for years. FYI, the elegant gold band is made from a kilogram of Welsh gold that the Queen was given for her 60th birthday. A spokesman told the BBC ahead of the royal wedding, “The gold was given to Prince William by The Queen shortly after the couple were engaged. It has been in the family's possession for some years and has been in the care of the royal jewellers.”

On top of her engagement ring and wedding band, Kate wears three eternity bands. One diamond band is believed to have been a gift from Prince William after the birth of their first son, Prince George, in 2013. The origin of the second slim pavé diamond band is slightly mysterious.

However, Kate's newest addition is a gorgeous sapphire-and-diamond eternity band, believed to be Cartier’s Étincelle de Cartier wedding band, and first showed up in the 2024 video announcing the completion of her chemotherapy. As such, it's led to speculation that it was a commemorative gift from Prince William.

Gorgeous, and so special. Not to mention super stylish with the way Kate has mixed metals – a huge jewellery trend RN!
