In exciting fashion news, one of our all-time favourite dress brands has joined forces with our go-to comfy underwear brand. Yep, we're talking about Rixo and Stripe & Stare and the collaboration in question is an irresistible limited-edition collection of underwear and nightwear we're shopping RN.
Marking Rixo's first foray into lingerie, the 23-piece edit stays true to the fashion label's signature aesthetic with bold, colourful prints throughout. Stripes, hearts, polka dots, ditsy florals and leopard print adorn camisole tops, knickers in a range of cuts, plus bodies and pyjamas too. While Rixo may intentionally avoid following specific trends and seasons – instead encouraging customers to invest in pieces they genuinely love, will re-wear and pass down through generations – there's no denying how perfectly timed the collection is, whether you want to tap into this szn's leopard love affair or you're shopping for Valentine's Day lingerie.
A shared sustainable mindset is one thing that united Rixo and Stripe & Stare. Effortlessly blending style and comfort, each piece is crafted from Stripe & Stare's unbelievably soft TENCEL™ fabric that is sustainably sourced from Beechwood trees. This eco-friendly material uses 95% less water than cotton during production and is 95% biodegradable in just three months (compared to up to 200 years for some synthetic fibres). Making it as kind to the planet as it is luxurious to wear.
As for how the collaboration came about, it really is a funny story. “I first met Katie [Lopes, Stripe & Stare Founder] at a networking event and funnily enough she was wearing a Rixo dress, and I was wearing her S&S knickers!” Orlagh McCloskey, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Rixo explains.
“After talking for a few years, we finally found the right time to collaborate. We’re both customers of each other’s brands and have similar ethos’ around sustainability, diversity and female empowerment so it has been a joy to see this come into fruition,” adds Henrietta Rix, Rixo Co-Founder and CEO.
And we haven't even gotten to the best part yet. The collaboration is (thankfully!) affordable with prices starting at £18 for knickers (or £50 for a pack of four), £30 for wire-free comfortable bras and polo-neck bodies retailing for £65.
“Collaborating with fellow female founders is my favourite thing to do. I have long loved Rixo and creating this collection with Henrietta and Orlagh has been a dream. The polka dots, the stripes, the leopards, the hearts – the perfect union of amazing prints on the softest range of underwear and layers,” Katie Lopes says.
