Whether subtly peeking out from beneath a sheer (or rather, naked) dress, simply worn as a top itself or shown as part of a daring red carpet look, the humble bra has been promoted from supportive underwear to star of the show when it comes to celebrity dressing. And Sydney Sweeney is the latest celebrity to demonstrate the ~exposed~ bra trend with her most recent star-studded outfit.
Taking to the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards last night [14 March, 2024], Sydney stole the red carpet spotlight wearing a cool-toned blue, mermaid-tailed Miu Miu gown. However, elevating the look, a crystal-embellished bra peeked out from beneath the scooped neckline with inch-wide straps effortlessly falling off of the shoulder.
Props to the fashion stylist behind Sydney's 'fit, Molly Dickson.
Now, while at first glance it may seem that Sydney's snazzy bra has been exposed, Molly revealed with a 360 look on Instagram that it was, in fact, part of the dress. Scroll to the second image in the carousel post below to see all that we're talking about.
Clever, huh?! It's an illusion, if you will.
Not only that but while synchronistically sharing their love for Sydney's look, in the comments section of Molly's post, fans pointed out the dress' uncanny resemblance to Julia Roberts' gown in the film My Best Friend's Wedding.
Everyone's clicking on...
It's almost identical!
As gorgeous in 1997 as it is in 2024... both the dresses and Sydney and Julia, ofc.
