The last few weeks have been something of a fashion marathon for Dakota Johnson, who has been touring the world to promote her upcoming film Madame Web (that's *finally* in cinemas today, btw!). As is now the norm post-Barbie, the actress has been in full "method dressing" mode for the duration, channeling her on-screen character's vibe at every possible occasion.
For an event in Rio de Janeiro, for example, she wore a gorge, gothic black naked dress and matching veil, both embellished with crystals in a spider's web design. And in NYC she sported three different red-and-black ensembles (including a see-through knit dress) in another nod to the film's colour scheme. Her most out-there look so far, however, has to be the completely sheer web-like Gucci gown she wore to twin with co-star Sydney Sweeney at the glitzy Los Angeles premiere earlier this week. Until now, that is...
Because never one to rest on her fashion laurels, Dakota opted for an even more daring look last night:
Attending a Madame Web screening in Mexico City on February 13th, the actress wore what is undoubtedly her sexiest look of the press tour to date: an appropriately blood-red, Tom Ford gown featuring a plunging neckline that goes all the way down to her belly button (well, almost). Dakota's stylist Kate Young completed the look – and made sure to keep alllll the attention where it needed to be – with a truly epic diamond Messika necklace featuring four different chain lengths. Simply divine.
Now that the film is actually out, we're not quite sure how we'll get our Dakota fashion fill anymore... But at least we can revel in the fact that she went out with a bang.
