Suki Waterhouse is absolutely slaying maternity style. Having first revealed her bump on stage during one of her gigs while wearing a '70s-inspired ensemble consisting of a lilac and green sequinned micro-mini dress, crystal-embellished see-through flared leggings, metallic cowboy boots and a pink shaggy fur jacket, we probably shouldn't be surprised.
Since her maternity wear debut, Suki has continued to pull out all the stops in tiny string bikinis, patterned co-ords and floral dresses on a winter getaway (did someone say tropical babymoon?). And more recently, she stole the show at the 2024 Emmy Awards in a Valentino bump-baring, bow-embellished, cut-out gown that matched the red carpet.
If you ask us, the key to her style success lies in the fun, trend-led looks she's putting together, fully embracing and leaning into each theme and putting her bump front and centre. And her latest look certainly backs that theory.
Sharing a video of herself on Instagram captioned, "for everyone wondering why I’m always late…", Suki can be seen in the driving seat of a vintage convertible car wearing a cream, floral patterned silk headscarf, white silk dress and coordinating driving gloves. Black cat-eye sunglasses and a slick of red lipstick add to the retro vibe. A Borzoi dog – believed to be called Romeo, if one fan comment is correct – is sat on the passenger front seat, twinning with the mother-to-be in a matching cream scarf tied elegantly around its neck.
Fans were loving Suki's look and her canine companion, including her Daisy Jones and the Six co-star Camila Morrone who commented, "Mob wife era". We have to agree, everything about Suki's post aligns with TikTok's latest viral microtrend, the mob wife aesthetic. All about embracing glamorous and extravagant style, it doesn't get more extra than repping retro Queen Elizabeth-esque driving attire and dressing your fluffy friend up to match.
And if we know anything, it's that twinning is always winning – even if it is with a dog.
