Today (19 September) the Royal Family, and many across the UK, say farewell to Queen Elizabeth II. To mark the solemn occasion, Catherine, Princess of Wales (AKA Kate Middleton) pays tribute to the the Queen with her choice of jewellery for the monarch's funeral.

Dressed in traditional all-black attire, consisting of a long coat dress and a wide-brimmed hat with a veil, Kate wears a short pearl necklace, visible above the neckline of her outfit. The piece in question is the Four Row Japanese Pearl Choker, featuring rows of pearls that meet at a central curved, diamond clasp.

Far from a coincidence, the choice of jewels is no doubt a sartorial gesture from the Princess to Her Majesty. Over the years, the choker has been worn by multiple royals including both Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.
