Jennifer Aniston stuck to her winning formula for glamour at the 2020 Emmy Awards, and we are taking notes. The 51-year-old looked effortless in a vintage black Christian Dior dress when she joined Jimmy Kimmel onstage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Her dress of choice stuck to many of Jen's red carpet style rules - simple shape, sleeveless, one solid colour. The actress often opts for relaxed, unfussy black gowns at red carpet events, and boy does it work for her.
The black slip dress had a v-neck opening at the top, and a waterfall hemline that fell at her ankles. She finished off the look with black ankle-strap heeled sandals, and a diamond collar necklace. She opted to keep her beauty look simple too, with her signature middle-parting beach hair, a golden tan, and sheer pink lips.
Jen treated us to some behind-the-scenes snaps of her special look on Instagram Stories, too. We see her getting her hair "zhuzhed" by stylist Chris McMillan:
Finally, she shared two shots of a stylist in a face shield adjusting her dress, saying 'Things are looking a little different this year...'
So, where does one even find a dress like this? Hollywood stars often turn to LILY et Cie, an exclusive vintage fashion boutique in Beverly Hills, for unique designer pieces. Rita Watnick, the shop's owner, told Grazia, ‘I purchased this dress at Dior in 1999...Part of our strategy here is to order and buy clothes from important collections and important designers, and allow them to become infinitely rarer and more valuable. I archive and store these finds for roughly 20 years before I present them to my clients.' Other celebrity fans of the boutique include Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Penelope Cruz, and Renée Zellweger.

Wow - so she didn't exactly just pop down to the shopping centre for this one, then...
