The Waterfront is Netflix's latest crime drama that is being dubbed as a mix between Ozark, Succession, and Outer Banks.
The 10-part series dropped on the streaming site on Thursday 18th June, and has already got viewers hooked.
Set in North Carolina, the 10-part series follows the fictional Buckley family who are trying to maintain control of their fishing empire, leading them to step into sometimes dangerous territory.
"For decades, the Buckley family has ruled Havenport, North Carolina, dominating everything from the local fishing industry to the town’s restaurant scene. But their fishing empire has started to crumble as patriarch Harlan Buckley (Holt McCallany) recovers from two heart attacks, and his wife Belle (Maria Bello) and son Cane (Jake Weary) venture into the deep end to keep the family businesses afloat," the synopsis reads.

Holt McCallany as Harlan Buckley
Who is Harlan Buckley? It's not quite clear if Harlan is a villain or a hero. The patriarch of the Buckley family, Harlan has been away from the business due to two heart attacks, leaving his son Cane and wife Belle in charge. But his health issues haven't made him change his lifestyle, still drinking whiskey and skirting the law to keep the Buckery Fishery alive.
What else has Holt McCallany been in? McCallany is best known for playing FBI Agent Bill Tench in the Netflix series Mindhunter. He's also had roles in: Lights Out, Fight Club, Three Kings, Shot Caller, Wrath of Man, Nightmare Alley, and The Iron Claw.
Maria Bello as Belle Buckley
Who is Belle Buckley? Belle is a complicated figure, managing the fishery through dubious methods in a desperate effort to hold the family together. As she and Cane make increasingly reckless choices, their growing desperation forces Harlan to step back in.
What else has Maria Bello been in? Bello is best known for starring in the medical drama ER. She's also had roles in Coyote Ugly, Grown Ups, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Empire, Prisoners and Lights Out.
Jake Weary as Cane Buckley
Who is Cane Buckley? Cane Buckley is the sole heir of Harlan’s legacy. His bond with his father is up and down, but despite everything, Cane remains eager to earn Harlan’s approval. Now married to Peyton and raising a young daughter, Cane clings to the financial comfort the family fishery provides.
What else has Jake Weary been in? Jacob is known for starring as Deran Cody in the TNT drama series Animal Kingdom. Other notable roles include: Luke Snyder in As the World Turns, Vince Keeler in NBC's action-drama series Chicago Fire. He's also had film roles in horrors It Follows and It Chapter Two.
Melissa Benoist as Bree Buckley
Who is Bree Buckley? The daughter of Belle and Holt, Bree was once the brains behind the business, however, let alcohol get in the way of her career and motherhood. Her son, Diller, lives with his father who has full custody of him and she has to have supervised visits with him to see him. Their relationship is pretty strained, with Bree often buying his love with gifts.
What else has Melissa Benoist been in? Benoist played Marley Rose in the musical series Glee. Other notable roles include: Supergirl, Whiplash, and The Girls on the Bus.
Rafael L. Silva as Shawn West
Who is Shawn West? Shawn is the Buckleys' newest hire working behind the bar. He quickly becomes entangled in their dysfunctional world and is hiding a secret that could unravel everything the Buckleys have built.
What else has Rafael L. Silva been in? Silva has had roles in Madam Secretary, Fluidity and 9-1-1- Lone Star.
Humberly González as Jenna Tate
Who is Jenna Tate? Jenna is the high school girlfriend of Cane. She moved away from the area to focus on her career as a journalist, but is back to take care of her sick father. It's pretty clear that Cane hasn't quite gotten over Jenna (who is now married) despite being married to Peyton. Will he put their young love behind them or put his relationship at risk?
What else has Humberly González been in? Netflix fans will recognise González from Ginny and Georgia, in which she plays Sophie - the ex-girlfriend of Max. She's also appeared in Star Trek: Section 31, Tarot and Nobody.
Danielle Campbell as Peyton Buckley
Who is Peyton Buckley? Peyton is a true Southern woman, the wife of Cane and mother to their eight-year-old daughter. She loves Cane and understands his complex relationship with his dad.
What else has Danielle Campbell been in? Campbell has starred in Madea's Witness Protection, Disney's Prom and Being Frank.
Brady Hepner as Diller Hopkins
Who is Diller Hopkins? Diller is the son of Bree, who now lives with her ex-husband. Diller is a bitter and guarded teenager, due to years of disappointment caused by his mother’s addiction. While Bree tries to repair the damage between them, he keeps her at arm’s length, choosing instead to gravitate toward his grandfather Harlan.
What else has Brady Hepner been in? Hepner is best known for his roles in The Black Phone and Chicago Fire.
