Netflix has had a string of intriguing dramas based on real life events recently, from the shocking story of Belle Gibson in Apple Cider Vinegar, to the heartwarming tale of the creation of IVF in the movie Joy, we've been gripped to our remotes watching a fictionalised version of reality come to life. And the latest drama that's sure to catch our attention is Toxic Town, which dropped on the streamer yesterday (27 February).
The four-part series tells a dramatisation of the real life case of the Corby poisonings, which was found to have a link with birth defects, and focuses on the mothers who take on a David Vs Goliath style fight to get justice for their children. It's got a truly talented British cast and here's where you know them from.

The cast and characters of Toxic Town
Jodie Whittaker as Susan McIntyre
Jodie Whittaker stars as one of the mothers, Susan McIntyre, determined to get justice for her son. Jodie has been on British TV for years, and is perhaps best know for playing the Doctor in Doctor Who. She also had a main role in Broadchurch, and starred in the original One Day movie and had roles in St Trinian's, Tess of the D'Urbervilles and Black Mirror.
Michael Socha as Peter
Peter is Susan's boyfriend and they have two sons together, however after their second is born, Peter is unable to cope and skips out on the family. He's played by Michael Socha who you'll most likely know from his roles in This Is England, Being Human, Showtrial and Once Upon a Time.
Aimee Lou Wood as Tracey Taylor
Aimee Lou Wood plays Tracey Taylor, another mother joining the cause to fight for her child. Aimee is currently on our TVs right now in a lead role in season three of The White Lotus. She's also known for playing in Aimee in all seasons of Sex Education. She's also starred in the series Daddy Issues and Alice & Jack, and the movies Seize Them and Living.
Matthew Durkan as Mark Taylor
Mark Taylor is Tracey's husband and is also grieving the loss of their daughter as Tracey takes up the fights, he's played by Matthew Durkan. He's also starred alongside Aimee Lou Wood, in the series Daddy Issues and is also known for his roles in Wedding Season and Outlander.
Claudia Jessie as Maggie Mahon
Another mother impacted by the poisonings is Maggie Mahon. She's married to Derek who works on the former steelworks site and they have a son who is born with a club foot. She's played by Claudia Jessie. Of course, you're most likely to know Claudia from her role in Bridgeton as Eloise. She's also know for her roles in Line of Duty, Doctors and Vanity Fair.
Joe Dempsie as Derek Mahon
Derek is Maggie's husband and works on the former steelworks site, although he wants a chance to work in the office rather than in th lorries, and he's played by Joe Dempsie. Joe is known for his role as Gendry in Game of Thrones, as well as starring in Skins as Chris and most recently he's appeared in the HBO drama Get Millie Black.
Stephen McMillan as Ted Jenkins
Ted Jenkins joins the council after university and is the first person there to express concern over the running of the former steelworks site. He's played by Stephen McMillan, who is best known for his role in Boiling Point as well as appearances in The North Water, and Outlaw King.
Robert Carlyle as Sam Hagen
Sam Hagen works on the council and he's played by Robert Carlyle. Robert is best known for his roles in movies Trainspotting, The Full Monty and the TV series Once Upon a Time.
Brendan Coyle as Roy Thomas
Roy Thomas is the head of council and is inspired by a number of individuals, he's played by Brendan Coyle. You're most likely to know Brendan from his role in Downton Abbey where he played John Bates. He's also know for appearing in Lark Rise to Candleford, Me Before You and Requiem.
Rory Kinnear as Des Collins
Rory Kinnear has been on our TV screens for many years, and in Toxic Town, he plays the role of Des Collins, who appears to be a lawyer. Rory is known for his roles in the James Bond movies as Tanner, the movie Bank of Dave, the TV series Penny Dreadful, The Diplomat, Rings of Power and many, many more.
Lauren Lyle as Dani
Lauren Lyle joins the cast of Toxic Town as the character Dani. Lauren is best know for her roles in the series Outlander, Karen Pirie, Vigil and most recently starring alongside Saoirse Ronan in the movie The Outrun.
Karla Crome as Pattie
Karla Crome also stars in Toxic Town, as the character of Pattie, who is another mother impacted by the poisonings, and the impact it has had on her son. You'll most likely remember Karla from her role as Jess in the E4 series Misfits. She's also known for appearing in Carnival Row and Am I Being Unreasonable?
