Calling all Janeites, we have your latest obsession as the BBC has just dropped their newest series Miss Austen, following Jane's elder sister Cassandra Austen and her decision to burn her famous sibling's letters.

Based on Gill Hornby's novel of the same name, the four-part series shows two timelines in the Austen sisters' lives. The first when Cassandra is older and Jane has passed away, and we see her grapple with her decision to destroy Jane's correspondence, and the second during the sisters' youth as they navigate romances and friendships.

All four episodes of the series are available now on BBC iPlayer, and trust us you'll be hooked, thanks in part to the incredible British cast. Here's where you know them all from.

Keeley Hawes as Cassandra Austen

Cassandra Austen is Jane Austen's older sister. The series follows her as she discovers Jane's letters and her decision to get rid of them.

Cassandra is played by Keeley Hawes, who has been on our screens for years. You'll most likely recognise from Bodyguard, Line of Duty, The Durrells, It's A Sin and honestly so many more.

Synnøve Karlsen as young Cassandra Austen (Cassy)

Synnøve Karlsen plays the younger version of Cassy during the flashback series.

Synnøve is best known for her role in the Netflix series Bodies, and she's also appeared in Last Night in Soho, Passenger, Midwich Cuckoos and Medici.

Rose Leslie as Isabella Fowle

Isabella Fowle is the daughter of Cassandra's family friend. She writes to Cassandra to let her know her father is dying and Cassandra shows up.

Isabella is played by Rose Leslie, who you'll most likely know from her role as Ygritte in Game of Thrones. Over the years she's also had major roles in Vigil, The Good Fight, Downton Abbey and The Time Traveller's Wife series.

Alfred Enoch as Mr Lidderdale

Mr Lidderdale is the physician looking after Isabella's father and seems to have quiet the interest in Isabella.

Alfred Enoch plays the doctor, and you'll most likely recognise him from his role as Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter movies, or perhaps you'll recognise him for his role in How to Get Away With Murder or the recent series The Couple Next Door.

Calam Lynch as Tom Fowle

Tom Fowle is young Cassandra's love interest, who plans to go on sailing mission before returning to marry her.

Tom is played by Calam Lynch, who you'll most likely know best from his role in Bridgerton as Theo, or more recently for his role as AJ in Sky's Sweetpea.

Patsy Ferran as Jane Austen

Jane Austen of course needs no introduction, and she's played by Patsy Ferran during the series.

Patsy is best known for her roles in Living, God's Own Country, and Life After Life. She's also going to be starring in an episode of Black Mirror later this year.

Jessica Hynes as Mary Austen

Mary Austen is Cassandra's sister-in-law, who joined the Austen family when she married Cassandra and Jane's brother James Austen.

Mary is played by Jessica Hynes who you'll most likely recognise from being one of the creators and actors in the sitcom Spaced. You'll also know her from the Nativity movies, the Bridget Jones movies and the Paddington movies.

Liv Hill as Mary Lloyd aka young Mary Austen

Mary Lloyd is the sister of Eliza and is friendly with the Austen girls, she later marries James Austen.

She's played by Liv Hill during the flashback scenes. Liv's first role was in the series Three Girls, since then she's appeared in Jellyfish, The Serpent Queen and Disclaimer.

Max Irons as Henry Hobday

Henry Hobday knows the Austen sisters and is played by Max Irons in Miss Austen.

Max's first big role on screen was in the 2011 movie Red Riding Hood alongside Amanda Seyfried. You might also recognise him from The Host, The White Queen, The Riot Club or Condor.

Mirren Mack as Dinah

Dinah is Isabella's maid and appears to have a big issue with Cassandra showing up.

Mirren Mack plays the role of Dinah. Mirren's first role was as Florence in Netflix's Sex Education season one. Since then she's appeared in The Nest, The Witcher: Blood Origin, The Doll Factory and Mary & George.

Kevin McNally as Mr Austen

Mr Austen is Jane and Cassandra's father, who appears in the flashback scenes.

Kevin McNally plays Mr Austen in the series, and you'll most likely recognise Kevin from his role as Gibbs in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. He's also had roles in Doctor Who, The Crown, Downton Abbey, and many more projects.

Kevin stars in Miss Austen alongside his wife Phyllis Logan who plays Mrs Austen in the series.

Phyllis Logan as Mrs Austen

Mrs Austen is Cassandra and Janes' mother and appears in the flashback scenes.

She's played by Phyllis Logan, who stars in the series alongside her IRL husband Kevin McNally. You'll likely known Phyllis from her role as Mrs Hughes in Downton Abbey. She's also appeared in Shetland, Guilt, and Secret & Lies among many other roles.
