We were truly blessed with good TV last year and thankfully that trend shows no sign of stopping as 2025's TV schedule is packed with a bunch of exciting new releases. Of course we're excited for the return of some of our favourite shows such as The Last of Us, The Traitors and Wednesday, but it's always nice to find a new obsession and next year promises to deliver just that. From James Norton heading up a tense baby swap thriller, to a number of true life adaptations, and a new Game of Thrones spin-off, we can't wait to be glued to our remotes next year. Here's all the new TV shows we're super excited for in 2025.

Missing You

The latest adaptation of Harlan Coben's thriller novels Missing You dropped on New Year's Day, quite literally kicking TV off to a great start in 2025.

The series follows detective Kat Donovan whose world is turned upside down when she discovers the love of her life who disappeared 11 years ago, has turned up on a dating app. His reappearance causes her to spiral and look back at the past including her father's death.

James Norton returns to our screens in 2025, this time playing one half of a couple who discover their baby has been swapped at birth. The two couples must face the toughest decision of their lives, to keep the baby they have grown to love or to reclaim their biological child.

January is firmly thriller season as we'll also be settling down to watch Patience, a six-part series police drama set in York and follows the life and cases of self-taught autistic criminologist Patience.

Martin Clunes stars in this gripping and tense crime drama set in the British countryside which sees him as a farmer and father who must deal with an invading drug gang in his community.

Molly Mae: Behind It All

Where to watch: Prime Video

It's the documentary we've been waiting for, and in January we were fully locked in watching the first part of Molly-Mae's tell all documentary where we got behind the scenes access to Molly's world, including the building of her brand Maebe and her breakup with Tommy Fury. The second half of the documentary drops later this year.

250 years on from the birth of Jane Austen, the BBC are bringing us a new series which is based on Gill Hornby's novel of the same name and explores why Jane's sister Cassandra burned all of Jane's letters after her death. Consider us intrigued.

Amandaland

Jon Hamm is booked and busy right now, and is set to star in Apple TV+'s new series Your Friends and Neighbors. The series stars Hamm as a hedge fund manager who has been fired and is grappling with his new divorce, with nothing left to lose he resorts to stealing from his wealthy neighbours, only to discover the secrets in their homes are even more valuable.

Ok, we're really excited for this one. Jodie Whittaker leads a truly iconic cast lineup for this adaptation of the true story of the Corby poisonings. The series also stars Robert Carlyle, Aimee Lou Wood, Rory Kinnear, Brendan Coyle, Claudia Jessie, Joe Dempsie and Michael Socha.

Following the mega success of Drive To Survive which follows the racing season of F1, next year it's the women's chance to shine. Netflix is teaming up with Hello Sunshine, Reese Witherspoons' production company, to tell the story of the 2024 F1 Academy season, the female only racing series.

The MAX gods have heard our prayers and are filling the House of the Dragon hole in our lives by bringing us a new Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms.
