Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story characters vs the cast in real life

Erik Menendez is the younger Menendez brother and was just 18 years old when he killed his parents.

Erik is played by 28-year-old Cooper Koch. Monsters is Cooper's biggest role to date, but he's also known for appearing in Swallowed, A New York Christmas Wedding and They/Them.

Kitty Menendez is the mother of Lyle and Erik, and wife to José. She was 47 years old when her sons killed her.

Kitty is portrayed by the iconic Chloë Sevigny, who you'll probably best know for her roles from American Psycho, Big Love, Zodiac, American Horror Story and most recently in Ryan Murphy's Feud: Capote vs The Swans where she played C.Z. Guest.

José Menendez is the father to Lyle and Erik, and husband to Kitty. He was a music industry executive and was 45 years old at the time of his death.

Javier Bardem plays the role of José, and has of course been on our screens for years, with memorable roles in Skyfall, No Country For Old Men, Being The Ricardos and Dune amongst many, many others.

Dominick Dune is the Vanity Fair reporter who covers Lyle and Erik's trial.

Dominick is played by Nathan Lane, who you'll most recently recognise from his role in Only Murders in the Building. He's also known for his roles in The Gilded Age, The Producers, The Birdcage and crucially as the voice of Timon in The Lion King.

Leslie Abramson is a defence attorney, who becomes the lead counsel for Erik in his trial.

Leslie is played by Ari Graynor, who easily has one of the biggest hair transformations in the series. Ari is best known for her roles in The Sopranos, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Whip It and many more.

Judalon Smyth is the mistress and ex-patient of Erik's therapist Dr. Jerome Oziel, and ends up having a pretty crucial role in Lyle and Erik's arrests.

Leslie Grossman plays Judalon in the series and equally has a pretty dramatic hair transformation for the role. Leslie has appeared in many series of American Horror Story and is also known for her roles in Love, Victor and Popular.

Dr. Jerome Oziel is Erik's therapist who he begins to see after his parents' death.

Dallas Roberts takes on the role of Dr Jerome, and he's best known for his roles in movies Dallas Buyers Club, 3:10 to Yuma, and the TV series The Good Wife.
