ITV's Red Eye: Here's where you recognise the cast of the new drama from
Yes that is Richard Armitage, and no this is not a Harlan Coben series
Our latest drama obsession is ITV's newest mini series Red Eye. The tense six-part series tells the story of Dr Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage), who after a trip to China, is extradited back to Beijing where he is being charged with a manslaughter he swears he didn't commit. Accompanying him on his trip back to China, is police officer DI Hana Li (Jing Lusi), who ends up investigating a number of suspicious incidents that occur on board the pair's red eye trip to Beijing.
As well as a gripping story, Red Eye also has a great cast lineup making it well worth a watch and here's where you may recognise them from.
Richard Armitage as Dr Matthew Nolan
Richard Armitage plays the lead role in Red Eye, Dr Matthew Nolan who has been accused of manslaughter and is being extradited back to China to face charges.
You'll of course most likely recognise Richard from his roles in the Harlan Coben adaptations on Netflix, most recently he starred in Fool Me Once alongside Michelle Keegan, but he's also been in The Stranger and Stay Close.
Richard is also known for his role in Netflix drama Obsession, his role of Thorin in the Hobbit trilogy as well as Spooks, Robin Hood and Hannibal.
Jing Lusi as DI Hana Li
Also in a leading role in Red Eye is Jing Lusi as DI Hana Li. Hana has been put in charge of accompanying Dr Nolan on his trip back to China.
Jing's first role was in 2008 and since then she's appeared in a number of projects including Crazy Rich Asians, Scott & Bailey, Gangs of London and most recently Argylle.
Lesley Sharp as Madeline Delaney
Lesley Sharp takes on the role of the recently promoted MI5 director Madeline Delaney, whose husband is ill.
Lesley is a British acting legend, who has been acting since the early 80s, and is perhaps best known for her roles in The Fully Monty, Scott & Bailey, Afterlife, Playing The Field and Before We Die.
Jemma Moore as Jess Li
Jemma Moore takes on the role of Hana's half-sister Jess who is an aspiring reporter and has recently fallen out with her sister over a news story.
You'll perhaps best recognise Jemma for her roles in Netflix's Lockwood & Co, Silent Witness and Two Doors Down.
Dan Li as Toni Zhang
In Red Eye, Dan Li takes on the role of Toni Zhang, a mysterious man who boards the plane and appears to have an interest in Dr Nolan.
Most recently Dan has appeared in The Beekeeper, The Lazarus Project, The Continental and Luther: The Fallen Sun.
He's been acting since the late 00s and has appeared in episodes of Doctor Who, Black Mirror and Silent Witness.
Zoe Telford as Dr Amber Hurst
Zoe Telford plays Dr Amber Hurst in Red Eye. Dr Hurst is one of the doctors who attended the conference with Dr Nolan, and has been asked to also return to China to give testimony.
Zoe has been acting since the early 90s and has previously appeared in episodes of The Lazarus Project, Vera, Genius, Unforgotten, Greyhawk and Jo.
Thomas Chaanhing as Captain Chen
Thomas Chaanhing takes on the role of the captain responsible for flying the plane from London to Beijing.
Thomas is perhaps best known for his roles in Prime Video's The Wheel of Time, a number of Swedish dramas including 30 Degrees in February, Vampire Academy and Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan.
Lucianne McEvoy as Dr Kate Ward
Dr Kate Ward is another doctor who attended the conference in China and is also travelling back to give testimony, she's played by Lucianne McEvoy.
Lucianne is best known for her roles in Shetland and Dead Shot.
Jonathan Aris as John Tennant
John Tennant is Delaney's biggest rival in MI5 and constantly undermines her decisions, he's played by Jonathan Aris.
Jonathan is perhaps best known for his roles in Sherlock, The End of The F**king World, His Dark Materials, and Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.
