Nativity! Where are the cast of the Christmas film now?
16 YEARS since the film came out, here's what the cast are up to today...
It’s officially Christmas, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to revisit the festive films we love most - and Nativity! is always high on the rewatch list.
Starring Martin Freeman, the feel-good favourite centres on a former actor turned primary school teacher who’s put in charge of his school’s Nativity play. What starts as a simple production quickly spirals into chaos when rumours spread that a Hollywood big-shot is coming to watch.
Released back in 2009 (yes, somehow 16 years ago), the film’s young cast have well and truly grown up. So, after a little internet detective work, here’s what we found out about where the Nativity! stars are now.
Nativity! character - Zack
The best performance of the Bee Gees we've ever seen.
Zack in real life - Tom McGarrity
Tom’s still a performer, and has worked on cruise ships over the last few years in Australia and South Africa. He got married last year and celebrated his first anniversary in May 2025.
Nativity! character - Sam
Sam performing 'Teenage Dirtbag' in a hat is probably the cutest thing we've ever seen.
Sam in real life - Maeve Dolan
According to Maeve's TikTok, she's now 24 and has been sharing lots of videos of her singing.
Nativity! character - Sadie
Sadie decided she didn't want to perform in the Nativity because she was nervous, and instead put herself forward for a stage hand next year.
Sadie in real life - Sydney Isitt-Ager
Sydney trained at Laine Theatre Arts and also has a makeup and lashes business on the side. This year she starred in the Military Wives musical.

Alfie, right, wanted to play Joseph in Nativity! so was given a starring role
Alfie in real life - Jake Spratt
Jake is now 29 living in Surrey/Scarborough. He went on to star in West End shows including Billy Elliot and Matilda the Musical, and graduated from Leeds in 2018. Last year he got engaged to his girlfriend Olivia. They shared the news on Instagram, with Jake gushing: "Completed it Mate!"

Becky in real life - Krista Hyatt
While Krista's Instagram is private, she does have a public TikTok account. Her bio used to read: "Bad b Becky from Nativity 1🎄😚✌🏼" but she's since changed it. Krista who studied professional dance has over 18K followers on the social media platform and often shares lots of glam photos.

Throwing the glitter around in the final scene = iconic.
Beth in real life - Ellie Coldicutt
Now in her early 20s, Ellie recently got engaged after graduating from UWE in Bristol in July 2019, and setting up a clothing store called Elrose Clothing.
Nativity! character - Crystal
Crystal was one of the stars in the final production.
Crystal in real life - Cadi Mullane
Cadi is 25 and part of the Royal Welsh Musical Theatre. She recently spoke on TikTok about being part of Nativity!, explaining she got the part through an an agency who were looking for “kids who were really chatty, could dance a little bit and sing a little bit."

Alan Carr plays the harsh film critic, who is always snacking in the crowd (same.)

Alan Carr - Alan Carr is a stand-up comedian and chat show host. He previously presented the Royal Variety Performance and most recently appeared on the first series of The Celebrity Traitors, which he won.
Nativity! character - Gordon Shakespeare
Aka, Mr Maddens rival choreographer at the private school down the road.
Nativity! character - Jason Watkins
Watkins has played a main character in McDonald and Dodds since 2020, while also having starring roles in Des, The Crown, Line Of Duty and A Very English Scandal.

He's the brightest star in Nativity!, right?

TikTok user Daisy Marney has shared a number of videos of a man, alleging he is Brandon McDonald aka Oli from Nativity! The likeness is totally there, isn't it?
