After last season’s memorable line-up, this year’s Love Island has a lot to live up to. There was Kady’s meltdown over Tina’s arrival, Malin’s return to confront Terry, and Sophie’s not-so-shock exit. In short, it was all kinds of wonderful.

With that in mind, it’s hardly surprising that the show’s producers are keen to emulate that huge success, and are pulling out all the stops to track down the most perfect (read: controversial) contestants. The Sun reports that producers are conducting a pretty extreme job interview, by flying out a group of hopefuls for a five-day trial in the Spanish villa.

“The trial will be seriously debauched,” an insider told the newspaper. “The contestants know misbehaving is the way to get on the show – but that leads to all sorts. Last year contestants romped on TV and producers were forced to provide the villa with extra condoms.”

One person who almost became an Island-er is Lisa Appleton’s daughter, Sophia, who revealed in a since-deleted Facebook post that she’s decided to pull out of the running.

According to Metro, she wrote:

“Well as you all know, I could of been on Love Island this year, everyone keeps asking me what’s going on… so I’m putting it out there… it was a hard choice to make, but due to a potential relationship in my life I decided to turn it down a few weeks ago.

“However I wish all the best for the luck people that get to compete, find love and win the show, £50,000 and in return hopefully a successful life.”

We guess we’ll just have to wait and see who passes this “seriously debauched” trial…
