Well, he did it. Harry Styles made this whole ‘going solo’ thing official last night, when he appeared on Saturday Night Live without the One Direction boys for the very first time. And, you know what? He totally nailed every second of screen time, from his spot-on impersonation of Mick Jagger, to the bit we’ve all been waiting for - the first TV performance of his single, Sign of the Times.
In case you missed the show, we’ve rounded up all of Harry’s very best moments. Guys, he even delivered snacks to fans while they waited outside for tickets.
1. So, snacks first
The food Harry sent to waiting fans was very specific: they had pizza and kiwi. Pizza because it’s always a winner, and kiwi because he has a track on his album called Kiwi.
2. Then that monologue
When Jimmy Fallon kicked off the show with a Let’s Dance monologue, who else should appear but Harry Styles, complete with jazz hands and graceful twirling.
3. The Mick Jagger impersonation
It was pretty much spot on, if you ask us. Also, don’t miss the little dig Harry makes at himself: “Solo? Why would anyone in a successful band go solo? That is insane.”
4. Some awkward beard action
We want to focus on Harry’s singing and acting in this Civil War Soldiers sketch. We really do. But that fake beard flapping off his face is a tiny bit distracting, no?
5. The first performance
Harry sang his debut solo single, Sign of the Times, live on TV for the first time, and he killed. it.
6. And the second performance
Then, he performed Ever Since New York, a song some fans believe could be about Taylor Swift. Either way, that high note at 2.32 is everything.
Bravo, Harry!
