The Testaments cast stars Chase Infiniti, Lucy Halliday, and Rowan Blanchard as the next generation of women growing up in the oppressive, dystopian, fundamentalist former United States known as Gilead. It takes place several years after the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale and is based on the novel that Margaret Atwood published in 2019.
Yes, Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) is here too, and yes the rebels are still rebelling. But the show is set primarily at a preparatory school for young wives where everything is pink and purple and practically perfect. Which is, if you know the truth about Gilead, creepy AF.
