Known for her strong eyeliner game and enviable head of hair, the beloved Traitors presenter Claudia Winkleman is taking on a major new TV role.
After conquering Saturday nights with Strictly Come Dancing, she’s now beginning her next venture: The Claudia Winkleman Show.
Temporarily filling one of the most famous seats on television, Claudia is taking over the slot usually held by The Graham Norton Show.
And her takeover begins tonight (13 March). Here are all the details to have on your radar...
Why is Claudia Winkleman replacing Graham Norton?
Claudia is launching her self-titled show to fill the Friday night slot, while Graham Norton takes a pause on his own show.
It comes after Graham made the decision to strip down his annual schedule, having hosted the show since 2007 (yes, that's nearly 20 years of chatting to celebs on the sofa).
On his podcast Wanging On with Graham Norton and Maria McErlane, Graham said: "I used to do a thing where we’d end in February and then we’d have a few weeks off, and then we’d come back for eight weeks in April, May."
"And about five or six years ago I got rid of that bit," admitting it was to stop him from "getting bored" with the show.
This opened up an eight-week slot in the filming schedule, leaving space for a new host in town! Now Claudia will be taking over the reins, with Graham’s approval of course. After Claudia stood in for Graham in a single episode in February, he told Lorraine: "She did an amazing job."
And on The Claudia Winkleman Show, he said: "It’s going to be even more Claudia!"
On taking over from Graham, Claudia said: "It’s an enormous honour. He is the king, the best of the best. He’s incredibly generous and charming and easy to talk to and that’s why he always has the best guests."
She added: "To be in the same slot is a total privilege and also completely nerve wracking."
How long is The Claudia Winkleman show on for?
The Claudia Winkleman Show will be airing for the next seven weeks every Friday.
In a teaser for the show, Claudia said: "Hello, they've given me a talkshow - agreed, an error. Here's some information, there is an audience, they're lovely, and brilliant guests. It might be excruciating."
The guestlist for tonight’s episode has already been revealed, with many more to come over the weeks.
As well as the very best Hollywood stars, Claudia will have a live studio audience, and a green sofa – a twist on Graham’s iconic red one. On her outfits, she joked: "I’m trying to dress like Michael Aspel with a touch of Michael Caine."
Is The Graham Norton Show coming back?
The BBC has already confirmed The Graham Norton Show will return after Graham’s break as part of a new three-year deal.
An exact return date hasn’t yet been announced, but it’s expected to be back later this year. However, for the next seven weeks at least, Claudia will be our leading lady.
We cannot wait to see her in all her glory tonight!
The Claudia Winkleman Show airs tonight on BBC One and iPlayer.
