The latest crime drama to take over our Sunday and Monday evenings – ITV's new series Gone – is coming to a close tonight, with Sarah Polly's killer revealed in the season finale.

The new six-part series follows DS Annie Cassidy as she investigates the disappearance of a Sarah Polly, who has gone missing one afternoon, much to the surprise of her husband Michael and their daughter Alana. Soon a discovery plunges the case into greater depths with more suspects unlocked and old cases reemerge.

Who is Michael Polly? Michael is one of the series lead characters. He's a headmaster at a prestigious school and his wife goes missing. He's obsessed with his job, with David Morrissey explaining about his character, "He’s very aware of the legacy and fundraising in the world of public schools, and he carries the burden of making both the finances and the education work. He sees himself in terms of the school’s legacy."

What else has David Morrissey been in? David has been on our screens since the 80's and is best known for his roles in The Walking Dead, The Deal, State of Play, Sherwood and more recently starred in Daddy Issues, The Woman in Cabin 10 and Prime Target.

Who is Annie Cassidy? Annie is the other lead character of the series. She's the detective who starts working on the case, only to be assigned as the family's liaison officer later on. Eve Myles who plays Annie, describes her as "She's a woman in her forties. She's happy in her job, but very lonely in her life. Her job actually is her life, it's everything she has and everything she thinks she needs at that point."
