The Stolen Girl continues tonight. The gripping five-part drama, based on Alex Dahl’s bestselling novel Playdate, kicked off last Wednesday (25th February) after originally streaming on Disney+ last April.
Dark, tense, and impossible to look away from, the series explores the devastating consequences when a child goes missing and the lengths people will go to uncover the truth. In tonight’s episode, Elisa and Fred are in limbo as the police begin to suspect an organised criminal gang may be involved, while a mysterious prisoner collects news clippings about Lucia’s disappearance and Fred’s behaviour grows increasingly suspicious.
The show sees Jim Sturgess, known for One Day, star as Fred, part of the couple whose daughter disappears, while Ambika Mod, who appeared in Netflix’s recent adaptation of the book, plays determined journalist Selma Desai.

Denise Gough as Elisa Blix
Who is Elisa Blix? Elisa is a cabin manager on private jets and the mother of Lucia, who she allows to stay overnight at her friend Josie’s house after meeting Josie’s seemingly friendly mother, Rebecca.

Who is Rebecca Walsh? Rebecca appears to be the sweet and charming mother of Josie, who convinces Lucia's mother Elisa to let Lucia spend the night at her home.
What else has Holliday Grainger been in? Viewers may recognise Grainger from the BBC's The Capture, on which she stars as DCI Rachel Carey. The show is set to return for a third season this March. Her other credits include: Waterloo Road, Mickey 17, Strike, and Cinderella.
Ambika Mod as Selma Desai
Who is Selma Desai? Selma is a driven journalist at Dash Voice, who takes matters into her own hands when Lucia Blix is abducted. Feeling the police aren’t moving fast enough, she leads her own investigation.
What else has Ambika Mod been in? She’s known for playing Emma Morley in the 2024 Netflix series One Day and for her breakout role as Shruti Acharya in the 2022 BBC drama This Is Going to Hurt. She’s also appeared in I Hate Suzie.

Xavier Samuel as Marcus Turner
Who is Marcus Turner? Marcus Turner is a hotelier and Elisa's former lover, who is currently serving time in prison.
