Brooklyn Beckham literally broke the internet last night when he released a bombshell statement about his estranged family and, in particular, his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. His statement follows months of speculation that the Beckhams have been feuding, with rumours suggesting the fracture began over Brooklyn's marriage to Nicola Peltz.

In his nuclear statement, Brooklyn said he had "no choice" but to speak out against his family and "tell the truth." He went on to make a string of claims about his parents, including that they leaked stories to the press and caused tension on his and Nicola's wedding day. "Family 'love' is decided by how much you post on social media," the 26-year-old went on, before adding that he does not want to reconcile with the Beckhams.

While Brooklyn's statement heavily criticised his parents, some fans speculate that he expertly timed it to snub his younger brother, Cruz Beckham. Just hours before Brooklyn made the claims on his Instagram Story, Cruz dropped the announcement that he's going on tour – a massive move for the 20-year-old.

"What a perfect PR timing," one person commented on Cruz's Instagram post, referencing Brooklyn's shocking statement. "Beckham family beef just right when little brother dropped the song."

"Ironic that Brooklyn decides to 'speak the truth' just after Cruz makes a big announcement. Weird to me! Looks like he wants all eyes on him," another Instagrammer said. "Brooklyn knew exactly what he was doing, dropping that story at the same time as this," added another.

A fourth fan agreed, writing: "He had a lot of time to talk, and coincidentally, Brooklyn does it at Cruz's moment."

Over on X, there was a similar feeling. "Interesting how Brooklyn Beckham tried to overshadow Cruz's band news by releasing his petty statements just a few hours after Cruz's announcement," someone posted. "This attack could see Cruz's ticket sales halve," another person agreed.

Not everyone thought the timing was suspicious, though. "That's a stretch. I don't think you are right whatsoever," someone said of the timing in Brooklyn's defence. "The Brooklyn Beckham hatred is a little discouraging to see," wrote another person.

So far, none of the Beckhams have publicly responded to the many claims made by Brooklyn, and he hasn't added anything else either. Whether or not the Beckham family or Brooklyn offer additional commentary remains to be seen, but one thing we know for certain is that the internet is ready and waiting.
