Season 15 (yep, we can't believe it either) of Call the Midwife dropped last month — almost a year to the day since the last series was released.
The beloved BBC One drama has been running since 2012, and was originally based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth, a legendary nurse and midwife. The episodes followed a group of nurse midwives working in the East End of London in the late 1950s, who deal with the pressures of work (and their personal lives), while trying to navigate the worldly changes around them.
Fast forward to season 15, and the episodes are set almost two decades on in the 1970s, where the cast explores the Women's Liberation Movement, premature births, plus a storyline in Hong Kong. Episodes drop every Sunday at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

Jenny Agutter as Sister Julienne
Who is Sister Julienne?: Sister Julienne is in charge of Nonnatus house and this season she'll have to navigate working with the NHS.
What else has Jenny Agutter been in?: Jenny has been at the helm of the show since its launch and is one of Call the Midwife's central heartbeats. However, she does have other credits to her name, including starring in Logan's Run, two adaptations of The Railway Children, An American Werewolf in London, Equus, and more recently, for her work in The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Molly Vevers as Sister Catherine
Who is Sister Catherine?: In season 15, Sister Catherine is now a fully qualified midwife and one of the nuns who are part of Nonnatus House.
What else has Molly Vevers been in?: Before Call The Midwife, Molly was best known for starring in The Rig. She's also appeared in episodes of The Spanish Princess, The Long Shadow and War Games.
Rebecca Gethings as Sister Veronica
Who is Sister Veronica?: Sister Veronica is another one of the nuns and midwives at Nonnatus House, and will be forever changed by the events of this season.
What else has Rebecca Gethings been in?: Over the years, Rebecca has starred in episodes of Veep, The Thick of It, Extras, Not Going Out and Doctors.
Judy Parfitt as Sister Monica Joan
Who is Sister Monica Joan?: Sister Monica Joan is an all-around icon and nun. She's a former midwife who still lives at Nonnatus House and is thoroughly involved in the goings on of Poplar.
What else has Judy Parfitt been in?: 90-year-old Judy is another actor who has been part of Call the Midwife since the show began in 2012. Outside of the drama, she is best known for her roles in series such as Jewel in the Crown, and Pride and Prejudice, and in movies such as Dolores Claiborne, Maurice, and Girl With the Pearl Earring.
Helen George as Trixie Aylward
Who is Trixie Aylward?: Trixie, or Lady Aylward, is one of the midwives at Nonnatus House. She is married to a wealthy man named Matthew, who is currently living in New York. She makes it her mission to help Sister Julienne out with the policies and politics of the NHS and Nonnatus House.
What else has Helen George been in?: Helen is best known for her role as Trixie but has also starred in projects including Red Dwarf, Nativity Rocks! and DI Ray.
Linda Bassett as Nurse Crane
Who is Nurse Crane?: Nurse Crane is a no-nonsense midwife who also works at Nonnatus House and this season will get involved in the Women's Liberation Movement.
What else has Linda Bassett been in?: Linda is best known for her roles in the movies Calendar Girls, East is East, and Kinky Boots. She's also starred in the TV series Lark Rise to Candleford and Far From The Madding Crowd, amongst others.
Natalie Quarry as Nurse Rosalind Clifford
Who is Nurse Rosalind Clifford?: Rosalind is one of the midwives at Nonnatus House, but she is not a nun. She is currently in a relationship with Cyril and this season will see their relationship tested.
What else has Natalie Quarry been in?: Before Call the Midwife, Natalie had starred in an episode of Doctors, Atlanta and the movie Think of England.
Renee Bailey as Nurse Joyce Highland
Who is Nurse Joyce Highland?: Like Rosalind, Joyce is another nurse who lives and works at Nonnatus House, but is not a nun. This season will see her get involved in the Women's Liberation Movement.
What else has Renee Bailey been in?: Prior to starring in Call the Midwife, Renee was best known for her role in Rebel Cheer Squad: A Get Even Series. She's also starred in Mood and Film Club.
Annabelle Apison as Violet Buckle
Who is Violet Buckle?: Violet is the mayor of Poplar and also owns a haberdashery shop. She's married to Fred, and they have an adopted son together called Reggie.
What else has Annabelle Apison been in?: Annabelle is best known for her role as Monica in the series Shameless. She's also appeared in TV series The Village, The Bill, Micawber and the movies From Hell, Goodnight Mr Tom, and Lolita.
Cliff Parisi as Fred Buckle
Who is Fred Buckle?: Fred is the caretaker for Nonnatus House and also runs the newsagents in Poplar. He's married to Violet and is father to their adopted son, Reggie.
What else has Cliff Parisi been in?: Cliff is best known for his role as Minty on Eastenders, which he appeared in for eight years. He's also known for starring in Kavanagh QC, Bramwell, and A Prince Among Men.
Zephryn Taitte as Cyril Robinson
Who is Cyril Robinson?: Cyril is a local mechanic and pastor. He is getting a divorce from his wife Lucille, who was a nurse at Nonnatus House before she moved back home to Jamaica. He is now in a relationship with Rosalind, and this season, the relationship progresses quickly, and Cyril will be meeting her parents!
What else has Zephryn Taitte been in?: Zephryn is well known for his work on the stage and for his role in the series Brothers with No Game.
Stephen McGann as Dr Turner
Who is Dr Turner?: Dr Turner is Poplar's resident doctor. He's married to Shelagh and they have three children together - two adopted daughters and one biological son. Dr Turner also has his eldest son Timothy from his previous marriage, who is now grown up and a doctor in training.
What else has Stephen McGann been in?: Stephen is perhaps best known for Emmerdale, which he starred in for three years and played Sean Reynolds. He's also got an actual master's degree in science communication and when's not acting he's a public speaker on all manners of science.
Laura Main as Shelagh Turner
Who is Shelagh Turner?: Shelagh is a midwife and was once a nun at Nonnatus House, but turned her back on the order to have her relationship with Dr Turner. The pair have three children together.
What else has Laura Main been in?: Laura is known for starring in Murder City, The Mill, Dead Cat and The Invisible Atomic Monsters from Mars.
Max Macmillan as Timothy Turner
Who is Timothy Turner?: Timothy is Dr Turner's son and is finishing up his medical training and is back in Poplar.
What else has Max Macmillan been in?: Max has also starred in The Flicker and The Song of Names.
Georgie Glen as Miss Higgins
Who is Miss Higgins?: Miss Higgins is Dr Turner's dependable GP surgery receptionist and she has a close friendship with Nurse Crane.
What else has Georgie Glen been in?: Georgie is known for starring in Waterloo Road for three years as Audrey McFall, as Dr Wendy in Ridley and Ruth Lady Fermoy in The Crown. She's also had roles in Hetty Feather, Behind Her Eyes, Jackie, Les Misérables, Little Britain and Calendar Girls.
Christopher Harper as Geoffrey Franklin
Who is Geoffrey Franklin?: Geoffrey is Trixie's brother. He's an osteopath and spends a lot of time with the women at Nonnatus House.
What else has Christopher Harper been in?: Christopher is best known for playing the role of Nathan Curtis in Coronation Street for eight years. He's also appeared in The Diary of River Song, Holby City and the movie Housewife, 49.
