When one door closes, another one opens, right? Well, that's certainly the case for Claudia Winkleman, who is set to host her own chat show early next year, just weeks after hanging up her presenting role on Strictly Come Dancing.
Claudia's new chat show – which is set to rival The Graham Norton Show – was confirmed by the BBC this week. "I can't quite believe it, and I'm incredibly grateful to the BBC for this amazing opportunity," Claudia, who also hosts The Traitors, said of the new role.
"Claudia is a true national treasure – warm, witty and endlessly entertaining," the BBC's head of entertainment commissioning, Kalpna Patel-Knight, added of Claudia's upcoming show. "She has an extraordinary ability to put people at ease and bring out the very best in them, whether they're global superstars or members of the audience."
"We can't wait for viewers to join Claudia and her sofa full of stars," the BBC boss went on.

The BBC has said that So Television – the company behind Graham Norton's award-winning chat show – will produce The Claudia Winkleman Show. Speaking to the BBC about the show, So Television's managing director said Claudia matched Graham's ability to make the "Friday night talk show slot" a "dazzling appointment to view".
Comparing Claudia to Graham, So Television's Graham Stuart said she is "equally as brilliant" as a host. And that tracks. Earlier this year, Claudia stepped in for Norton on an episode of his chat show and, back in 2021, she replaced him as the host of BBC Radio 2's Saturday morning show, which she then presented for just under three years.
