Ever since it premiered in the US and Canada on 19 November, Heated Rivalry has been the show everyone can’t stop talking about.

Based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series, the LGBTQ+ sports romance follows ice hockey stars Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), who appear to be locked in a fierce rivalry on the ice - while secretly sharing a passionate relationship behind the scenes.

The Canadian series quickly became commissioner Crave's most-viewed series to date. And now, after months of anticipation, the viral show has finally secured a UK release date.

Announcing the news, Sky TV wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Your winter just got a steamy upgrade. You can thank us later."

What is Heated Rivalry about?

Heated Rivalry follows the passionate, hidden relationship between two closeted male hockey players who, to the outside world, appear to be fierce rivals.

It’s inspired by Rachel Reid’s book series, which spans six novels, with the first two forming the basis of the show.

The official synopsis states: "Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there is room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile and as powerful as real love."
