Just this weekend, Married At First Sight UK's Rebecca and Bailey revealed that they'd broken up, despite making it to the end of the experiment as a couple.

First Becs shared a post, saying: "To answer all the questions…. Yes, he fumbled" and an hour later, Bailey followed up with a lengthy post as he reflected on the good times they shared and addressed cheating rumours.

Seemingly responding to his ex's photo, he added in another post: "Well, that’s all she wrote…"

Now, Rebecca has opened up for the first time about their breakup, revealing that things "changed" once filming ended, causing them to split in July, around a month after production wrapped.

Speaking exclusively to Cosmopolitan UK, the 33-year-old aesthetics nurse revealed: "Things changed for both of us when we left the experiment, and ultimately Bailey ended the relationship. As Bailey stated in his recent statement, events that happened as soon as he broke up with me meant there was never any chance of us rekindling things."

Asked whether they're still friendly, she added: "We’re now four months on since our relationship ended, and no I wouldn’t class us as friends, but I have no ill feelings towards him. What we shared was so special and I’ll always be grateful for that."

Rebecca, who owns her own aesthetics clinic in Liverpool, and Brighton-based brewery owner Bailey, 36, were one of the first couples to get married on the 2025 series.

Despite a few doubts on their wedding day (as Rebecca wasn't sure he was "alpha" enough), things quickly turned around. By the time the couple moved into the apartments back in the UK, they were solid, with Bailey admitting very early on that he was "falling" for her.

They hit a bump in the road during homestays when the question of where they would live after the show came up. Bailey has a three-year-old daughter named Bluebell, who he co-parents with his ex, Lulu, so naturally, the possibility of moving fell to Rebecca.

When we spoke to the couple immediately after the vow renewal in May, they mentioned moving to Hove as a middle ground and talked about plans to set an official wedding date.

So, what changed?

Reflecting on their first few weeks outside of the experiment, Rebecca gushed: "They were great. We were inseparable. We spent so much time together and always had plans in the diary. It was hard to keep everything quiet in the first few weeks, everyone wanted to know where I’d been and what I’d been up to but everything was kept hush hush.

"Life quickly went back to normal, I opened the clinic again and settled back in to old life, seeing friends and family, and finding my routine again. I just had a new relationship to add into the mix."

During homestays, Bailey visited Rebecca’s home in Liverpool, which was noticeably larger than his apartment. Rebecca received plenty of compliments from viewers, many of whom said they wouldn’t move either if they lived in a place like hers.

"I didn’t leave my home in the end," she continued. "Bailey and I spent a lot of time between both of our homes, we put so much effort into travelling back and forth, and it was working. We looked at apartments in Hove and I made enquires about opening a clinic there, but we split up before any firm plans were put in place."

Early on in the experiment, a TikToker claimed that Bailey had cheated with his ex, which he denied. As well as this, fans speculated that he'd rekindled things with Lulu, after she posted a picture with a mystery man who fans believed to be Bailey.

"If Bailey has reunited with his ex since our relationship ended that’s absolutely fine with me," Rebecca said.

"That’s has nothing to do with me. I know there were rumours earlier on in the process that Bailey had slept with his ex during filming, and I quickly shut them down. I trust my gut, and I don’t believe Bailey was unfaithful to me during the experiment."

Now out of the experiment, Rebecca has returned to working at her clinic, where she says "business is booming". But while her professional life is thriving, her love life is intentionally quiet.

"Right now, no men are on the scene - whatsoever!" she laughed.

That said, she's grateful for the experience on MAFS and will take the lessons learned into the next chapter of her life, saying: "I have questioned if I’m 'too much' in the past, but the experiment and Bailey allowed me to be authentically myself, so I’ll take that outlook with me into future relationships."
