Contains major spoilers for The Celebrity Traitors finale

It's officially over! After four weeks of intense challenges, even more intense roundtables and the banishment of just one Traitor (RIP Jonathan Ross) The Celebrity Traitors finally came to an end tonight, crowning the winner.

The tense 70 minute long episode saw the five finalists - Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Nick Mohammed, Joe Marler and David Olusoga take part in one final mission, a final round table and an epic showdown around the fire pit.

So who was the winner? Here's everything that happened in the final episode of The Celebrity Traitors.

What happened in the final episode of The Celebrity Traitors?

The final episode of The Celebrity Traitors kicked off with the finalists' last breakfast together, and with no murder it was no surprise to anyone that they all turned up for one more meal together.

Before the final mission the group split into smaller sub-groups to discuss who they thought the final Traitors in group were. Nick and Joe headed off to the library where they shared their strategy for the final round table and how they were planning to get rid of Alan and Cat. However, Nick did also reveal he wasn't 100 per cent sure Joe was a Faithful.

The finalists headed to their last mission, which was their last chance to add money to the prize pot for their chosen charity. They turned up to the train station that is usually featured at the start of each civilian series. Upon meeting Claudia they were told they had the chance to add an additional £20,000 to the prize fund. In order to do so they would have to board a train and search for keys along the train in order to unlock four crates which holds £5,000. However, the crates also had explosives and so it was crucial they exited the train before the 20 minute journey was over.

It was a tense challenge, but with less than a minute to spare they managed to find all four keys throughout the carriages, and unlocked the four crates in order to bag the £20,000. They ran off the train just as the crates exploded in the backgrounds. Claudia revealed this meant that after completing the final mission their prize pot stood at £87,500.

Upon returning to the castle the group ate dinner and then divided up into sub groups again to discuss their suspicions before the final round table.

At the round table the group began sharing their theories of who they think the remaining Traitors are. Things got heated, with all of the finalists being looked at under the microscope. They then all voted for who they thought is a Traitor - Cat received three votes, and David received two.

This mean Cat was banished, however, because of the rules of the final she didn't reveal whether she was a Faithful or a Traitor. The final four then had a drink before each having a sit down with Claudia to discuss how they felt about the showdown upcoming.

They then all headed up to the roundtable which had a firepit added to it. Each member had two pouches one labelled - end game and the other - banish again. They each throw a bag into the fire and if even one of them chooses to banish the group must all vote to banish someone.

The first round saw all four of the group choose to banish again and the group voted for who they believed to be a Traitor. Joe and Alan voted for each other, David then voted for Joe and going last was Nick who also voted for Joe. With three votes it meant it was Joe's time to go.

The second and final round saw the group pick their pouches again, with all three choosing to end the game.

Who won The Celebrity Traitors?

After all three chose to end the game, they each took it in turn to reveal whether they are a Faithful or a Traitor.

Alan was last to go and revealed he was a Traitor causing absolute shock from David and Nick. Nick dropped to his knees, shouting "f**k".

Alan then burst into tears, saying it had been "tearing" him apart. David and Nick congratulated him and supported him as he cried. He also revealed Cat was his other fellow Traitor, not Joe who had just been voted off.

So Alan Carr is the official winner of the first series of The Celebrity Traitors.

How much money did The Celebrity Traitors winner get for their charity?

Alan won £87,500 for his chosen charity Neuroblastoma UK who, "fund research that will lead to more effective treatments and ultimately a cure for every child diagnosed with neuroblastoma."

Congratulations Alan!
