This week, the MAFS UK 2025 cast headed out for some day trips, and things got a little confusing during a game of Snog, Marry, Avoid. Viewers were surprised to hear Julia-Ruth choose to "marry" Steven, who is in a marriage with Nelly, 30.
Speaking exclusively to Cosmopolitan UK, the 29-year-old dancer explained exactly why she chose Steven, 34, revealing that they actually had a close relationship off-screen.
She said: "The only reason why I said that is because at this point Divarni and I had had so many arguments and so many battles and in terms of (obviously it was more of the girls), but in terms of anyone that I got on with and I was having a lot of laughs with, it was Steven - just for laughs.
"I also feel like everyone just kept asking me to say... his name! It wasn't shown, but our couples - Nelly and Steven, Divarni and I - we just got on the most. That's it."
Earlier in the series, Julia-Ruth and Steven clashed after she exposed him for bragging about his sexual history on a night out while Nelly was at home with a broken rib.
Steven lost his temper and stormed off, hurling insults at the rest of the cast. While Maeve stood by her story, Julia-Ruth's husband Divarni, 29, didn't stand up for despite her calling on him to help.
The mother of Steven's children, Chloe, has since spoken out, saying: "When it comes to the behaviours on the show and stuff, I don't condone outbursts or any of that kind of behaviour and I feel like it is being heavily edited to look a certain way."
Married At First Sight UK airs on E4 four nights a week.
