Celebrity Race Across the World finally returns to our screens tonight (6 November) as four pairings of familiar faces and their loved ones set off for a race around the world. And yep, we cannot wait.

Taking part in this year's series is Roman Kemp, Anita Rani, Molly Rainford and...Dylan Llellwyn.

    Dylan Llellwyn is a 33-year-old actor confirmed to be participating in Celebrity Race Across the World 2025 with his mother, Jackie.

    As an actor, he is known for playing Martin "Jono" Johnson in Hollyoaks, James Maguire in Derry Girls, Jack in Big Boys and PC Kelby Hartford in Death in Paradise spin-off, Beyond Paradise.

    Dylan chose to take part in the competition with his mum Jackie, revealing "She’s just so easy going, and I think she's just an amazing travel companion. We get on so well and we’re so close so I think she was the best candidate for the job."

    Ahead of going on the show Jackie revealed the trip is quite different the family's normal holidays, explaining, "We usually just do a destination in Europe, or I've been to Barbados or the Caribbean a few times so it's nice, comfy beds - no camping."

      After teasing with some cryptic clues on social media, the news was announced on Thursday 18th September on Scott Mills' BBC 2 Radio breakfast show, with Llewellyn sharing some of his experiences of being on the show.

      "It's like a whole whirlwind of emotions, and so many struggles and challenges. But also, I feel like you grow a lot as a person. I feel like I'm a better person after it," Lewellyn said.

      What has Dylan said about his dyslexia?

      Over the years Dylan has been open about his experience growing up with dyslexia and how it's impacted his career.

      During an interview with The Guardian in 2024 Dylan revealed he grew up going to a school that specialised in support for dyslexia, having spent the early few years of his life struggling with reading and writing.

      "I was nine years old when I moved from my local primary to More House School, specialising in supporting students with autism and dyslexia. Before that, I was struggling a lot because of my dyslexia. I was being left behind; I could barely read and write," he told the publication.

      He also opened up about how he felt before getting his diagnosis, revealing it made him feel "dumb" but that in getting his diagnosis, he felt "reassured" about himself.

      And when it comes to learning lines for jobs today he uses a mixture of an iPad and audio recordings to help learn scripts.

      He said: "Once I’ve got all my lines down. I record my voice doing all the other parts, leaving gaps for my bit. And then I press play, performing my lines live, so I learn the cues."
